Possible G34 purchase

I just got back from my local Sportsman's Warehouse and fiddled around with a G34 for the first time ever. I liked the trigger on it and was wondering if Glock has tweaked it a bit? It felt a little lighter (smoother??) versus that of my G30 and G19. In fact, my G30's trigger feels better than my G19's. I have a 3.5 connector for my G19 but I rarely have it installed simply because I carry it from time to time. (I carry the P9 the most due to its terrific carry size).

Anway, the G34 was $599 with adjustable sights. The G17 there was only $499 which is an excellent price in my area. So, the question is: Would the G34 be good not only for a range and possible competition gun, but also for when the SHTF type as well? Is there any reason to believe the G34 would not pass torture tests like the XDs and G17s do all the time?

Or -- is it more of a single purpose gun? I just don't know enough about the role of this pistol.

If the $100 is not an obstacle and since you already own a 19, I would recommend the G-34. Especially if you think competition might be in the future. I shot one in IDPA for a year, never had a failure of any kind with it. I have a G-35 now, 40 cal. version of the 34, and a LWD 9mm conversion barrel. The 34 comes stock with the 3.5 connector.

if you already have a G19, a G34 is a good compliment to it. A g17 would be redundant IMHO (and not that there's anything wrong with that...).

I shoot my weeks old G34 better than any other pistol I've owned previously (two 19's,23,30,36,37,P226R DAK and USP .40), wish I bought one years ago :banana:

Well, it's good to see the addiction growing...

I have a G26,G19,G17,G34 and love them all in their specific roles...

G34 is an excellent competition pistol, accurate, well balance, and nice sight radius.

I haven't had a need for adjustable sights on a 9mm in only 15 years or so...

You open to considering used? You might save some $$$...

it's the only Glock i own.

I think that will be my next purchase. Normally I would like to shoot it first before buying it, but I can make an exception to that rule having owned a 17, two 19s, 23C, 26, 30, 32...the next logical one is the 34 of course!

Plus I already have 6 19-rounders for it.
