Apparently, Glock added the Auto after 10mm at some point. Maybe the generation change? What year was the Auto added?

View Full Version : What is stamped on your G20 - 10mm or 10mm Auto? Vulcanese 12-05-2006, 17:13 Apparently, Glock added the Auto after 10mm at some point. Maybe the generation change? What year was the Auto added? Dandapani 12-05-2006, 20:16 Good trivia question. Similarly, wasn't "357SIG" truncated, and "40SW"? 3rdpig 12-05-2006, 20:22 My 2nd gen G22 (June 95) says ".40SW". My 2nd gen G20 (Oct 95) says "10mmAuto". Vulcanese 12-05-2006, 21:14 Originally posted by dmobrien2001 Good trivia question. Similarly, wasn't "357SIG" truncated, and "40SW"? Yes! Bob Bravo-Four 12-07-2006, 16:35 The only reason they dont write .357sig or .40sw on their firearms is because they would basically be advertising other firearms manufacturers on their own weapons, a serious no go. Yup. Makes me wonder why they did it to begin with. 3rdpig 12-07-2006, 18:21 Originally posted by Vulcanese Yup. Makes me wonder why they did it to begin with. Probably some crazy notion like accurately marking the caliber on the guns they make so that morons won't load the wrong ammo into it, blow their fool heads off and then and sue them for millions and win in a court presided over by a liberal advocate who calls himself a judge. Right, but then why would they stop? RayRevolver 12-08-2006, 20:22 "10mm" only. 4/1/1991 Gen 2. I think it was the Sigma series that GLOCK was pissed about. Anyway, after the lawsuit, "SW" was no longer on the slides. Those are required permanent markings for manufacturers. All other markings are up to the maker. slee71 12-15-2006, 03:06 I just bought a G-20 it was made 3/1993 & it's marked "10mm Auto".
