i have a friend with a 3rd gen glock 17 with a automatic selector on it, just wondering if he bought a glock 26 sub compact 9mm glock would that selector be compatible??

There are no legal selector switches available to the public in the U.S. so there is a distinct dearth (lack) of experience. Just going by what I have read however, the type of switch that replaces the rear slide plate, should work with every model of Glock.

Have your friend take (His) model 17 with the automatic selector the the closest RCMP armorer and your (His) question I'm sure will be answered.
It depends, where is the selector located left side of the slide or rear part of the slide. If it is located at the rear part of the slide it can be used in any glock pistol.
this type of selector can be used in any glock pistol.

+1 glock 19.
I have fair amount of experience with the selector that replaces the backplate.It will fit any glock.
I've used it on a 22c,22, 23 and on a 26.

Nope not factory work my friend also has a G26 with the switch on the slide.
