Are there any known reliability issues with a SA TRP after replacing the two piece FLGR with a standard GI type recoil spring guide?
Thanks

I suspect that reliabilty may improve.

I have seen a lot of posts on the 1911 board about replacing the FLGR with a GI rig, and I have never seen (in 3-4 years) anyone remark that it caused a problem. I got rid of the two -piece in my TRP and went to a one piece then later a standard rig, and have had no reliability issues. If you did, it's easy to switch back, right? I really didn't like the two-piece rod, what a pain in the 6 o'clock.
I have a Kimber that I replaced the FLGR with a standard GI type by Wilson Combat. No problems at all with functioning in the couple thousand rounds since. Makes it a lot easier to field strip.

There are absolutely reliability issues when you get rid of the two piece guide rod. You will no longer have to stop shooting to retighten it!

I replace all FLGRs with the GI setup (Ed Brown specifically).
Okay now the question is why do people and companies put two piece rods in 1911s? I had one the Springer I used to have as it came that way and for the life of me I could not figure out the supposed advantage of it, only the disadvantages were obvious.
The manual said it is supposed to make it easier to disassemble. WTF? You have to have an allen wrench to field strip it, how is that easier?

FLGR's serve no purpose in a gun that needs be entirely taken down without tools, and those two piece ones are evil. Then again, if your barrel bushing is so tight you need a wrench I guess that is a moot point.

I own a TRP and I replaced that two-piece POS before I even shot the handgun. My TRP is the only 1911 that I have ever owned (I've had five, if anyone is curious) that has never had a failure, not even in the first 200 rounds.
Well if it makes any difference SA installs a standard short guide rod and plug in their Professional Model that they build for the FBI. This gun has a retail price of 2491.00 per SA website. I would say no, there would no reliability issues to swapping out the two piece guide rod setup with standard 1911 parts.JC :)
