After 150 or so rounds through my P99 my trigger finger began to hurt. I think it was due to hitting the weird hump in the trigger guard. Very annoying and the only firearm I have ever used that had this hump.
Anyone here file away the hump? If so, did it hel and what would be the best way to get rid of the hump?
I have heard of people filing the hump inside the trigger guard. The hump inside the trigger guard has never given me any problems (I like it, I think it adds to the distinct look of the first generation P99). The second generation P99 is void of this feature.

Are you sure it's the bump in the trigger guard? I've heard of several people getting a sore finger from a mag release that was a little too high. They had to sand off just a little bit to make it flush with the bottom of the trigger guard.

I did suffer from a sore finger initially with my SW99 - but it wasn't the bump. It was from the plastic seams on the trigger itself. But, after a couple of trips, my hand touchened up and i have no issues w/ it.
I have seen 1 guy comment about the mag release levers. But honestly, I don't see how those small levers can do that when U fire the gun....

I have a S&W SW99 that was giving me trouble too especially when I was trying to shoot it for groups from the bench. I found that the problem was the magazine release was a little too high. I took he dremel to the lever, lowered and smoothed it and now I have no trouble at all. Never noticed any problems with the hump though.
