1991 update...

I'm almost done finishing doing the few things I wanted to do to my ORM 1991... ordered a new Ed Brown narrow extended thumb saftey, hex head grip screws, and coyote brown Simonich Gunner Grips from Brownells.

The only other things I want to do is send the slide off to get a Novak front sight dovetail(and the front sight pinned), install a Yost Retro Rear, lightly dehorn, and then refinish(parkerize!).

Pics will be posted in a week or so probably.. but for now heres what it looks like now!

Right now the only thing I've done to it is fit a Grieder Precision trigger and install an S&A checkered mainspring housing(courtesy of Scott Auld!).

I know what I'm doing isn't hard stuff but it's kinda cool and I know it's what I want. Gun works great as is, just needed a few things :thumbsup:

Just blend the one you have. A piece of 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and a flat surface is all you need. Go slow and you'll be fine.

of all the 1911s i have and have had and seen ,the colt 1991 is the way i like my 1911.i prefere the spur hammer and stock beavertail (or lack of a beavertail)thats on the 1991.you have a fine handgun there.keep the mods to a minimum!:banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

EGW has both 70- and 80-series models. Put a small radius on the FPS like G17guy has done and you will think you have a different gun.

Does Brownells carry both?

Brownell's 296-000-058 (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=19627&title=1911+AUTO+OVERSIZED+FIRING+PIN+STOP) fits Series 70 only.
