First Shotgun

Well I up and traded for a Remington 1100.

The mounted barrel is a 26" vent rib modified choke barrel. The unmounted barrel is 28" and is a full choke.

I put the Speedfeed stock on it a few days after I bought it. I'm looking at getting a sling of some sorts, any recommendations? The front sling swivel is going to be on the side of the clamp so I'm not sure if I need a special sling for that, I've always been partial to the M1907 "national match" style slings so I don't really know what else is out there.

All that's left, I believe, is a sidesaddle and maybe some sort of sighting system besides that little ball/bead thing on the front. How are you supposed to aim with that anyway?

You may want to consider substituting a much shorter barrel (i.e. 18") for the 26" barrel currently on the weapon. It is very difficult to maneuver indoors with a 26" barrel. Also, the shotgun is not going to be well balanced (read: front heavy) with such a long barrel.

Long barrels work great for hunting or trap/skeet type situations but are undesireable on a fighting shotgun.

So, I recommend you either purchase a shorter barrel or cut down one of the two barrels you have.

A shorter barrel is in the works. Right now I'm thinking about getting an even bigger magazine tube, but I was told that anything past +3 had reliability issues. Any opinions on the Choate +4 and +5 extension tubes?
