CCV 12-14-2006, 21:20 Don't personally own one, but have heard great things. LBTRS 12-14-2006, 21:31 I have a Nighthawk Talon. Fantastic shooter and highly recommended. paigecm 12-15-2006, 09:59 I have 2. 1 of them had to go back 3 times. It was a Talon 2 it had the STI recoilmaster system in it and could not get it to run reliably. When it went back the last time I had a pistol on order so I was talking to Craig about the problem and he said that since I had another Talon 2 on order, this time with a bobtail and all kinds of customs that I wanted, why not build it into a fullsize Talon 1. Sure I thought. Got it back and it looked great. Shot it and noticed some wear at the point of where the slide was slightly rubbing the frame. Took it home cleaned and reassembled and noticed this thing was loose as hell. Wobbled like a ww2 reject. Sent it back again and now it is perfect. Can not complain about the service but keep in mind I don't think a 2800.00 pistol should have to go back 4 times. But that didn't stop me from cancelling my pending order and I have had no problems with the new pistol. I guess the first was was a dog some how. Both pistols have std. G.I. recoil systems. This is the original Talon 2 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/P1020480.jpg This is it after turning into a Talon 1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/DSC00466.jpg This is the newest one Talon 2 bobtail w/ extras. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/DSC00591.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/DSC00590.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/DSC00589.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v518/paigecm/DSC00597.jpg epsylum 12-15-2006, 16:05 paigecm, DA-ROOL!! fireslayer23 12-21-2006, 18:24 I don't own a Nighthawk but I've handled several. A high school friend of mine works at Nighthawk (used to work at Wilson but left to help start Nighthawk) and I went up and he gave a couple of us the tour one day last year before I moved to Florida. Not a flashy operation by any means, but good solid people working there and friendly as can be. The new Dominator really has my interest. All I can say was I was TOTALLY IMPRESS with the Product, Quality, Fit & Finish. But I will in all probability NEVER OWN ONE as they are way out of my Price League 2400 Bucks is not within my REACH, but I think Nighthawk has it over my Favorite High End 1911 Ed Brown... akapennypincher 12-23-2006, 09:55 Originally posted by Derek Martin pennypincher asking about a high end gun??? Maybe he knows of a recent widow that is hungry? Well I see no point in your POST, as it is STUPID IMO. One need not have the FUNDS to Appreciate a Ferrari, or Porsche. Just an appreciation of Fine Things. :tongueout: Bushflyr 12-26-2006, 23:36 I don't own one, but I have shot a few. They're very nice, super tight, accurate, and have great triggers. Having said that, I would never drop $2400 on a gun with a shake and bake finish. But that's just me. I want a really nice finish for that kind on coin. akapennypincher 12-27-2006, 06:31 Originally posted by Bushflyr Having said that, I would never drop $2400 on a gun with a shake and bake finish. But that's just me. WHATS A "shake and bake finish "??????????????? Rob96 12-27-2006, 18:36 Over at Tactical Forums they are discussing the Vickers Tactical model that Frogman (resident SEAL on the board) purchased. Not a very good piece. For that kind of money I would sooner take a Colt 1991A1 and send it into Yost for some work. retsvek 12-27-2006, 19:48 I have owned a NHC Talon for about six months now. I have had two other 1911's before it that were nice including a TRP. With that said I absolutely LOVE the Talon to death and will not part with it shake and bake and all. It is superb and has not had one failure in 1050 rounds. Not one. Excellent firearm and I will buy another in the future. :-) okie 12-28-2006, 16:32 I sure would like to try one out;)         vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
