Parker 12-18-2006, 14:55 Nice. I always enjoy that pic. Makes you wonder why they don't market a G21L? ;) Tom in Ohio 12-18-2006, 16:51 I wish Glock or someone else would make a G21 version or slide that would just fit into an IDPA box. That's what they did with the G34 and G35. The G17L was too long. A G21 with a 5.3" barrel and slide to fit would probably be perfect. blinddog 12-20-2006, 20:35 If Glock or some aftermarket vendor get enough feed back and demand inquiries they may come out with a factory version or a conversion set up or some sort. We can all hope anyway, I know I would buy one. ColoradoGlocker 12-20-2006, 20:48 . blinddog 12-21-2006, 13:29 Glock like any other manufacturer is market driven, that means that if they think that there is enough of a market for a product they will try and meet the demand 58 is hardly a market share but if a small after market shop began meeting the demand then Glock would maybe go ahead and do a factory offering of a long slide G20/21. But I think the demand would be mostly US based. Rawhide20 01-03-2007, 09:44 I owned one of the first and sold it. I am anxiously waiting for the new LWD slides as they will take standard Glock sights. buckweet 01-06-2007, 22:45 i'll probly buy one too. weet ColoradoGlocker 01-06-2007, 23:44 . buckweet 01-06-2007, 23:51 Originally posted by ColoradoGlocker Mistake. In fact, I'm working on an update which I hope to have pictures of shortly. bring on the pictures !!!! i feel a ''need'' for a G20L .... but need a slide. 10mm = deer. weet Rawhide20 01-07-2007, 09:40 Actually, I don't regret selling it one bit. The American made version will be every bit as good. hugeGlock 01-08-2007, 01:47 I love my 21... I would LOOOOVE a 21L. Lonewolf = JR. JR, can we get an update for this rumor of 20L/21L in Feb 07... That would make one hell of a shooter! That would make a nice OPEN gun! Nevermind what i said before... i would loooooove 2 21Ls!!!!! One for each hand, Last Man Standing style! :woohoo: ColoradoGlocker 01-08-2007, 13:43 . GMAN40 02-04-2007, 12:03 I myself would love a G21L. Glock really needs to do more market research! Rawhide20 02-04-2007, 14:23 I'm sure they have done the research. There is a reason why it isn't offered. It took LWD a while to sell about 60 of them. 40Magnum 02-05-2007, 23:30 The only reason I knew about the LongSlide is I read about it in here. You list them in one Glock annual or on their website, different story. epsylum 02-06-2007, 05:44 Originally posted by Rawhide20 I'm sure they have done the research. I am sure that had a LOT to do with it. Not to mention a lot of people are just now finding out about it. Rawhide20 02-06-2007, 10:49 The cost of that slide was more than most Glocks NIB, not including the barrel. I am sure that had a LOT to do with it. Not to mention a lot of people are just now finding out about it. I understand that. When I bought mine with the Jarvis Barrel, I dropped about $750 total. That is expensive as far as Glocks go, but most guys pay at least twice that for a 1911. If they'd advertise the heck out of it in a major gun mag, I'm sure it'd do fine. ColoradoGlocker 02-06-2007, 13:07 . epsylum 02-06-2007, 15:23 Originally posted by ColoradoGlocker Actually, the cost of the slide at $550 is rather a good deal as I'll explain below. If you bought a brand new G21 slide with all internals and stock Glock sights you'd pay over $300 for it. Now, if you took that same slide and added a melted Bo-Mar rear sight, you'd pay $165. Then the front serrations would cost you about $90. Now you have the slide in the configuration of the Longslide version except you need to refinish it and buy a front sight. As both those two things cost you more than $0, you've spent more to configure your stock Glock 21 slide the same as the Longslide. And, you still have the same short length slide without the benefit of the longer sight radius. Now to the barrel. The stock Glock barrel is great for a combat platform but some of us want a tighter and stronger chamber, more support for our cases so that we can use them more often in reloading, and conventional rifling so that we can use lead for economical shooting. In addition, some of us want a longer barrel for increased MV and ME. As the KKM and Bar-Sto 6" custom barrels cost the same as their stock slide length versions, there is no penalty for buying a longer one. Because I have the tighter chambers, I reload and fire both 10mm and 45acp loads I wouldn't attempt in a stock Glock chamber. That is what my G20/21L is; a fun range gun. And for that, it is actually inexpensive. And, as I'm sure that all of you have seen pictures of my recent upgrades, I have a pistol that stops them in their tracks at the range with it's definite 'cool' factor as well as its ability to shoot accurately at ranges well over 100yds. How would you like to shoot plates with me? Your G21 vs mine. Say 18" steel at 160yds offhand? Not hard enough? How about your G20 vs mine? Say 24" steel at 200yds offhand? No? Well, that is what I shoot at all the time with my G20/21L. BTW, the G20L on 18" steel at 100yds offhand is boring and the G21L at the target is easy. How would either your G20 or 21 do at 100yds offhand? I'm sorry Steve, but I am not sure who this reply is to. You do remeber I own a G21L myself right? You don't have to sell me on it. I was just pointing out why I thought they took a while to sell the 60 or so they had. Most people hear "Glock" and "$550 for a slide, no barrel included" and think "that is WAY too much for a plastic pistol." I don't obviously as I bought one. Ironically, many of those same people however would have no issue plunking down $2500 for a fancy 1911 that would more than likely look exactly like almost every other 1911 made by the big 1911 manufacturers. If Glock offered a factory G21L, I would buy it, even though I also have an aftermarket version. I love longslides. Thus My G21L and my 17L. I, however, am not the majority of gun owners/shooters. Many people see them and think "what is the point?" Rawhide20 02-06-2007, 17:07 Steve, A good summary/point you make indeed. One other longslide fan made a similar point that you get the similar capabilities from the Longslide system as you do a high dollar custom. You refer to the Longslide as a range toy. I am surprised (as much as you like it) that it isn't your nightstand gun. Any particular reason why? RH ColoradoGlocker 02-06-2007, 20:37 . ColoradoGlocker 02-06-2007, 20:53 . Rawhide20 02-06-2007, 20:55 CG, So why again is a 'toy' and not a house gun or truck gun? Just curious. RH epsylum 02-06-2007, 21:36 Originally posted by ColoradoGlocker epsylum - Actually, my comments were really aimed at Rawhide20 and the others who my not have realized what the slide actually is worth. I know you had one (along with your G17L) so I knew you'd understand. Ah, I got kind of confused by the context of this thread. ;) 40Pirate 02-08-2007, 17:42 http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l44/bearzbucket/G-21Longslide.jpg needs a new front sight still, but what a joy to shoot.
