I recxently bought the Ruger 10/22 Carbine and the Ruger Mark 11 in stainless slab-side barrel. It was my intention NOT to scope either one but my eyes ain't what they used to be and I had trouble with the sights especially on the 10/22.
I went to a gun show last weekend hoping to find something for each of them but it was slim pickin's. So I did what I always do when I can't find what I need for a gun...I went to my local Carter's Country and they fixed me right up.
I wound up with a "Red Dot" on the Mark 11. Uses a plain canera battery. Has no magnification but it put and intense (adjustable) red dot on the target. I has 4 different reticles to choose from. It has a bullseye (dot inside a ring), it has a cross, It has a dot and it has a smaller dot. I can't say how much I love it.

I had a nice little 3 - 9 X 40 scope mounted on the 10/22 and while I was at it I added a bi-pod with legs that telescope and fold forward when not in use.
Here's the legs down and as low as they go.

Here's the legs fully extended. They can be adjusted to any length between the two. When not in use they fold forward. The gun w/bi-pod and scope still fits neatly into it's original boot.

Won't be able to sneak of to the outdoor range until sometime in mid to late January. They have both been bore sighted but I'll have to wait to dial it in good and tight till the holidays are past.
