I like it, but I can't find that specific model on Kimber's website. Help me out?

You know, because it is a Kimber it will jam on you every third shot, the customer service will say mean things about your mom, it will rust, the frame will crack in 60 rounds, and it will fail even as a paper weight.
Let me save you the trouble and take it off your hands now.
;)
Seriously though, that thing is beautiful! Good choice!

Thanks for the comments!
Kimber actually only made this gun for a while in 2001 as a trial to see how the public would respond. People liked it a lot, so they released the CDP series. The difference is this gun has black accents and the cdp's have the chrome/silver accents. So, this is basically a custom shop built cdp compact.
Prsonally, I prefer the black accents. :)

I just got home from the range, and this is going to be my new carry piece! I ran 100 rounds of WWB through it, and 50 rounds of my normal carry round (Speer GD 185) and it was flawless. The 50 GD's made one hole inside the 10 ring on a B-27 at 10 yards.
I have been looking into buying something similar. Basically this is an 'officers' frame with a 'commander slide' right?
Can you get all fingers on the grip or is the pinky slipping off? A pic in hand would be great for reference! Thanks.

For me the Officer size frame and Commander size slide is perfect. Excellent hand fit + longer sight radius. It's basically a pistol that conceals like an officer, but is as accurate and reliable as a commander.
Here's a couple of pics. The gun fits perfectly in my average size hands.
The target is 50 rounds at 10 yards with Speer Gold Dot 185.
I also decided today to put Tru-Glo TFO's on it and am very pleased with the result.

Personally, I prefer the black accents. :)
Me too, I think that it looks much better. I have a Pro Shadow II. It has a silver colored thumb safety and grip safety, and maybe a silver magazine release & slide stop.
Good shooting!

Joe,
How many mags came with your Kimber? The one I have put a deposit on only has one... Is then the Kimber norm?
Thanks,
Greg

I bought mine used, so it came with 5 Wilson mags, and 2 CM mags. However, the CM mags have metal followers which can destroy alloy frame guns. I'm not sure what the Kimber norm is.

I have one of Combat Carry models too. Did have a CDP Ultra and traded it away, and I did get some gouges just below the feed ramp from metal followers (Chip McCormick magazines). A friend of mine uses his Combat Carry at IDPA matches and he shoots very well with it.
Mine shoots too low for competition use. When I got it the night sights were just about gone and Kimber replaced them (under warranty!) and with a shorter front sight, but it still shoots a little low. With slim grips, I don't think there is a better choice for carry.

Hey sooner, what kind of slim grips do you use? I'm thinking about getting a set for mine.

right now. The only problem with them is that the screws vibrate loose after a lot of shooting, like at a match. For ordinary carry, they stay on tight.

Sounds like something alittle lock tite or thread tape might fix.
I found one of these to handle during a pit stop at a 'sportsman warehouse' in Montana. Overall very nice, I was amazed how light it was. The grip is the perfect length for me also...all fingers have plenty of room. I think this time I am going to have a full custom built...but this would be just about perfect for a store bought unit.
Very nice my friend;)
