hard time with disassembly (g29)

so i was cleaning my guns and the g29 was sitting there asking to be cleaned as well. anyway when i went to field strip it i could not get it apart at all. it was like the small spring lever you pull down on was wore down soo much that i couldn't get any grip on it at all to get the upper off. the gun really doesn't have much use and i find it very strang that this would happen. does anyone have any ideas on the best way to resolve this issue?

wow finally got it apart, and completely stripped it down. there was somehow a gunk of solidified grease stuck under that slide. i cleaned it down and it works much better now. the bar still seems like it should be wider than it is so if anyone knows a solution to that it would be appreciated.
