Does anyone know if the rail on the newer G30's causes issues with holster fit?
I'm particularly interested in the CTAC, blade-tech and sidearmor offerings. (first choice is the UCR but he seems to be having problems..)
Thanks in advance
Most holster makers told me YES, it does matter. As of last summer very few made one for the light rail version. I think I saw somewhere that Milt Sparks was saying his holsters would fit either model, but please verify w/ them before taking this at face value.
If you look at Galco (gag, but illustrates the point), you will see their holster finder spits out a different listing of compatible holsters depending upon your specifying light rail or not.
IIRC, CTAC comes in two versions - one for w/, one for w/o.
I would be sure to specify clearly that yours has the rail when talking w/ vendors.
This is my only beef w/ my G30 - the lack of available holsters.
I think this has come up before. The search function is your friend. IIRC, the initial thought was that the rail on the new G30 made a difference in holster fit, but that was quickly shown to not be the case.
I've never had any issues with holster fit and a G30, rail or no rail.

The search function is my friend when it works. Good to know though.
