White Ring Around Trigs and Meps

I have Trijs and the white ring is already gone around my front sight (about 1200 rounds.) I have a 23C and yes, the front site gets dirty and needs to be cleaned.

What I'm wondering is if the white ring on Trijs is painted, or are tubes slipped into a plastic white ring? Are Meps painted, or is the tube slipped into a pastic white ring? When I bought the gun I wanted Meps because they seem to have a larger white ring, but the dealer was out. Now I don't have any ring around my front Trig. I either srubbed too hard to get the residue off, I'm using a cleaner that was too rough on the white ring paint and disolved it or the ring is just too black to see the white anymore.

The white ring on the Trijicons will come off in time. I had a few that would fade leaving a partial white outline. They haven't gotten that bad that I felt needed to be replaced. My issued Smith is pretty bad so I just ended up applying some white paint around the dot. That's the only ****ty thing about the Trijicons that I have noticed. I just use a cotton swab now to clean them.

Yeah, mine came off too quick. Probably the cleaner and scrubbing too hard. Note to self: don't use a toothbrush to clean the front sight...

I just watched a video from Trijicons websight about 2 minutes ago. The white outline is painted on.

Meprolight and XS use plastic inserts, as opposed to the white paint used by Trijicon. I'm not sure how AmeriGlo finishes theirs.

Hoppe's Elite and H2Orang2 are the only cleaning solvents I use on my Glocks. Neither attacks the polymer or sight paint. I use a Q-tip and a blast of canned air.
