Does anyone have the TruGlo Fiber Optic Brite Sites? I want to buy new sites for my new G17 and i would like to have green rear and red front. The TruGlo Fiber Optic Brite Site has this, but does it light up well in the dark? How do y'all feel about red front vs green???

TruGlo offers two kinds of fiber optic sights:
One has fiber optic rods that capture and focus ambient light to three aimimg dots. These work well on most ranges and are great outdoors. But they are not self-illuminated and are not night sights.
The other combines Tritium lamps with Fiber Optic rods (TFO) to create 24-hour illuminated sight. These are self-luminous and glow in total darkness.
When mixing colors, studies show that it works best to put the brightest color up front, and that is almost always green.
Meprolight, Trijicon, AmeriGlo and MMC all offer two color tritium sights, and these are usually orange or yellow rears, with a green front sight marker.
I put a set of Dawson Precision Adj/FO sights on my G17 and love them! These have a red front marker and a black serrated rear sight, and are great for range practice, but are not night sights. My G17 is a dedicated range pistol; I have other guns for HD/SD, and they have all-green, 3-dot tritium sights.
I'd like to try some yellow/green AmeriGlo's on my next gun.
As for the TFOs, I think they're a cool idea, but they've had too many quality control issues to suit me. Others here love them!

TFO's are bad ass. I don't have them yet, but have seen first hand and I love em.
See for yourself.... Pictures do tell

Well Bulldawg!! This is the most awesome sighting system I have ever used, my CCW Pistol is a G19, and my match (IDPA Mostly) is a G17.
Both pistols are fitted with this green front and back combination.
Green on the front is so incredibly bright in daylight, and as you look more or less through the back sights, the green rear is perfect. What makes the most sense is the fact that I have used Trijicon night sights for years (the night sights are perfect also) and to have the same three green dots in daylight is a huge bonus, and this combination in daylight is the fastest to acquire sighting system (IMHO) made to date. It is like looking at three green spotlights.
On my G17 using 147g Atlanta Arms remanufactured 9mm cartridges, put front sight center of head plate, gone!
My G19 did not have the same point of impact as the G17, with these match rounds, “OH-OH” said I, closer with my 127g Ranger, but dead on with some LE only 115+P+ Remington I have, no idea what velocity they are making, 1400FPS? But the recoil is substantial!
When you fit the rear sight, like all after market metal sights on Glock 9mm pistols, they go a wee bit more to the right side of the slide to get center impacts.
Quite a tight fit these rear sights, a must tool to use, the Glock rear sight tool, a plus is the wee Allan screw as an extra holding device.
And no, I do not work for Truglow!!

What tools do you use to remove factory sights and/or install the TFO's? And how much do they run?

I used a dowel to removed the rear and plier for the front. Very easy to do. And the sight cost me $69.99 plus 3 bucks on s&h. Got it from ebay:supergrin:
