View Full Version : Super Nova choke and accessories ?
Recently picked up a never been used supernova tactical. Is this supposed to have a choke and any other tools with it?If I contact Benelli will they send me a manual or should I just down load it?When the guy at the gun shop sold it to me he said it had a choke and I could only use rifled slugs with no sabot but when I look down the barrel there does not seem to be a choke of any kind.

There isn't a removable choke on a SuperNova Tactical. The barrel is choked at Improved Cylinder, I believe. It's a smooth bore barrel, so you can shoot any type of shot (including steel) or buckshot. For the best accuracy with slugs, you should use rifled slugs, but there is no reason why you can't safely shoot sabots, if you want to. The accuracy with a sabot out of a smooth bore will likely be sub par.
There are not any tools or extra accessories that come with the shotgun from the factory, so don't worry about that. If you call Benelli, they should send you a manual for free.
Did you get the model with ghost ring sights or rifle sights? Which stock did you get (Comfortech or pistol grip)?
Tac-star makes a magazine tube extension, in case you were wondering. Another good modification is to replace the factory recoil pad with a Sims Limbsaver pad.
Enjoy your new shotgun. The SuperNova rocks!

Great choice! I've got the same exact shotgun, and it is SWEET!!! You'll love it.
I've got a Sims Limbsaver slip-on pad (size small) on my SuperNova, and it makes all the difference in the world. This upgrade is definitely worth the $20. Just take off the stock pad, which is as hard as a rock, and slip on the Limbsaver pad. You'll be very happy you did - especially when you touch off some 3" magnum loads!
