Palmetto AR's

I have been offered a deal on an AR with a Palmetto "not sure if I spelled that right" lower. Who made them and what can you tell me about them. I can get the AR for $300. Might be woth it for parts if nothing else.

Unless I'm mistaken, Palmetto was a company that started and tried to make a hit during the beginning of the ban days. I think Olympic made them and they were milled from barstock. Check to see if the pin holes are out of round or egged. Their stuff wasn't the prettiest and not always in spec, but if the rifle runs, 300.00 isn't bad. I know some people like them for retro builds.
