Anyone own a CMMG complete lower? If so, how would you rate the overall quality?
How close are they to mil-spec? Lastly, is the trigger decent?
I'm thinking about getting one to mate to a Bushy upper, but want your opinions before I buy it.
IIRC, they are made by CMT/STAG and branded CMMG.
In other words, they are good lowers and utilize CMT LPKs.

Actually, I believe they (the lower recievers) are made by LAR, which is the same company that makes receivers for Bushmaster. They are quality.
I'm betting CMMG is closer to milspec than Bushmaster.
I have 3 CMMG AR lowers, 2 of them SBR lowers. I built them from stripped lowers. No problems with anything. Fit/finish look great. I didnt get them complete cause I wanted to build them and also used a RRA NM trigger assembly in one of them.
John/Jeff at CMMG are great (and local too)!!

I have two and they're as nice as anything out there. They include a mil-spec dia. buffer tube which is cool but it has the cheesy 5/8 plug at the end like commercial tubes. I've got a real mil-spec tube on order because I want to use my Magpul CTR and it doesn't collapse all the way on the existing tube. You can't beat their logo.

Do you have a pic of the 5/8 plug you were talking about?
I'm not sure what you are referring to.

True mil-spec tubes are 5/8 or so inches shorter and are flat on the end. The bulk of commercial tubes are angeled and are longer. It doesn't mean the bore where the spring and buffer reside are deeper, it's just that there's a big chunk of metal left on the end of the tube.
I thought about taking it to work and turning it down on a lathe but that's more trouble than it's worth. I'm just going to get another buffer tube for my CTR and use the carbine stock my CMMG came with on an SBR build.

CMMG is top notch stuff and good folks. All stock AR triggers suck.

Actually, I've found the DPMS stock single stage triggers to be VERY smooth!
