I am looking for my next purchases... (i can have only 7 centerfires)
I will sure buy another wheelgun (Ruger SP101 or SuperRedHawk .44Mag).
But i am also thinking of some "hot" Glock to come along my G19/26. And i don't have any full size frame Glock yet (why get a G17 when i have G19/G26 ?)
I definitely don't like the .40SW (i'd rather have a 9mm or .45ACP, i don't like to compromise  ) but i am for sure interested in the 10mm Auto :)
So i need you to convince me to buy a G20 !

I just picked up a G20 and it has quickly became my favorite handgun. The Glock handles the 10mm very well and the large frame does a great job of taming the recoil.
You want a "HOT Glock" ?? The 20 will be the(only) one for you.
1600fps....WHEW !!(Double Tap Ammo)
How 'bout an aftermarket 9X25 bbl. NOW your way,way,hotter/faster than a .357mag.
The G20 hasn't disappointed me. Mine shoots great. Accurate, and the Glock tames the recoil of the "full potential" loaded 10mm.
Get yourself a OD, G20. You wont be sorry.

I'd love to but :
First you don't find aftermarket Glock Barrels here... and cannot buy them from the USA as it would need an "War Material Importation Authorization" which is almost impossible to get.
Second a barrel on its own would "count" as a complete centerfire gun, and cost me a "owning permit" out of the seven i am allowed.
Third we don't get the OD's...
So i have to stick to something "regular"
Yes i know sad country for gun lovers... :crying:
Sorry sir. I failed to notice your location.

I really like mine although I have smallish hands and the large frame Glocks have large grips. It takes some getting used to and a lot of shooting to get a feel for it. After you calculate the muzzle energy, you'll wonder where the recoil went.
The big advantage of the 10mm goes to the reloader who can cook it as hot or slow as you want.
I don't know what is available for ammo in France but, if you can't get DoubleTap, the old Norma was very hot and the current Winchester Silvertip is also very good. A lot of the current American 10mm is only warm.

If i do get a G20, i'll probably invest a little money in a Dillon "Quick Change" + conversion kit + reloading dies, rather than in manufactured ammos sold for the price of Gold. Actually that makes me think that none of my Glocks have ever seen manufactured ammo...

The first Glock I owned was a G17, the first Glock I bought was a G29, the second glock I bought was a G20. End of May I will have another G20/29 along with 8 others in various calibers. (God bless the USA).
If barrels didn't count as guns, I would say get a G21 it can be convereted to fire at least 7 cartidges, but that is not an option for you. (A G21/30 and I think a G36 is in those other 8)
However, the 10mm is like having quite a range of power in one package. You bullet loadings from 135 grain up to 220 grain. (perhaps higher? the Double Tap load has a 95 grain ball behind a 135 grain hollow point for a total load of 230grain) In that range you can have hollow points that explode once they hit gelitin causing massive damage, heavier hollow points that penetrate deeply and expand dramatically. Also you can have thick jacketed hollow points for taking medium sized game, or heavy FMJ designed with penitration in mind.
The guns I buy serve a purpose, being versital is one of them. The G20 is quite versital, from defending the bedroom to taking deer to target practice to concealed carry, it performs exceptionally. If I could only have 1 pistol, the G20 would be it.

The G20 was my very first Glock:hearts: I've said it many times before, amongst all of my handguns, if I were limited to only one the G20 would be it. Great in the nightstand or in the field!

I love my KKM barrels. I have several of them for my Glocks and they are all top notch.
For me, the top brands would be Jarvis, Barsto and KKM (in no particular order). Storm Lake and Federal barrels seem to have a good rep too, but they seem to be down a little when it comes to fit and finish from what I have personally seen. YMMV.

Well, I was going to ask about ammo availability for 10mm in France, since if you were restricted to FBI-loads (basically 40S&W loaded in 10mm brass), I'd say skip it, but if you're set up to reload, that's a whole different story!
In Europe, I'm guessing Norma and Winchester Silvertips are the only "full-power" 10mm ammo available.
What kind of powders do you have available?

I found a way to get a Bar-Sto barrel if needed
You can find good 10mm Auto rounds, but i (anyways) never use factory ammos, i like to do my own, it's part of the pride i take from shooting. And with the wide range of reloadings you can make for 10mm Auto i think it'll keep me busy for some time
I should be able to get my "owning agreement" by June... just have to be patient now

+100 Same here, G20 was the first. What a blast to shoot! Even my wife shoots it with Double Tap ammo and doesn't complain of the recoil. So I immediately had to get it's little brother, the 29. KKM barrels in both, no failures of any kind. I did get a 6" Storm Lake for the 20 too. If I could only keep one, the 20 would be it.
