View Full Version : G21SF Conversion to 10mm????????????? ColoradoGlocker 12-31-2006, 14:17 . G33 12-31-2006, 15:04    40Magnum 12-31-2006, 19:55 Would a standard G20 slide/barrel just fit instead? If there is no difference at all between the G21 and G20 lower, it would be great if the new lower just slapped right into existing uppers. Rusty Phillips 01-01-2007, 08:18 if glock decides to make a G21 "SF" - which in effect is a 4th gen frame, then my money says that the G20 will transition over to the 4th gen a couple of months afterwards 4th gen G20 mags would be put into the distribution system slightly ahead of the 4th gen G20 pistols apparently there will be no changes to the slides, so you could also go the kkm conversion barrel, or as mentioned - buy a used G20 slide (or even a used G20 pistol and put the old style lower in the back of the safe) I think it best to just wait & buy a new style G20 when they eventually come out.... you know you want one G33 01-01-2007, 08:36 Jes! 40Magnum 01-01-2007, 16:29 I sure do. The only gripe I have, like many, is the need for a smaller grip size. MakeMineA10mm 01-01-2007, 22:36 Personally, if the only difference is a safety and ambi-mag release, I'll pass. Not enough of a benefit to negate the dozen magazines I already own for my standard G-20s and G-29. Just not enough of a benefit to make it worthwhile. I also am dubious that we'll ever see a G-20SF, because I believe that the G-21SF is mainly an attempt to get a contract for the government's next 45-cal service pistol. Since the military won't be switching over to 10mm, no need for a G-20SF... If they DO make a G-20SF, it will after the G-22SF, G-17SF, G-23SF, etc., etc. They'll do the biggest-selling pistol models first. Now, if the G-36T w/ a slimmer grip comes out with it's narrower grip with full-size slide and length of grip, I'd consider a 10mm version of that right away! ColoradoGlocker 01-02-2007, 12:54 . MakeMineA10mm 01-05-2007, 00:16 Ah. Understood. I wonder how they are getting a G21/G20 size magazine into a G17 size frame...? Photocop 01-05-2007, 00:20 Originally posted by ColoradoGlocker I have no interest in it because I happen to prefer the grip size of the G20/21 over the smaller one found on the G17/22 frame size. In fact, I added a Hogue HandAll to my G21 when it was brand new and like the even bigger grip better than stock. Amen to that, brother! My cousin and I--both G20 afficionados--were discussing the G21"SF" and before I could blurt it out he said, "I don't want any Glock with a grip any smaller than the G20." I too love the G20 grip better than the others. I use the Handall as well and find it to be just perfect ever since it became my daily companion. ColoradoGlocker 01-05-2007, 13:18 . Bravo-Four 01-05-2007, 13:21 I got big mitts. Can't beat the feel of a 20/21 in my book. MakeMineA10mm 01-05-2007, 19:47 I think all you "big-handed" guys are just tryin' to impress the girls! :animlol: I've got average-to-small hands, and I don't mind the G-20-size grip at all. My only real issue with it is as a duty gun, if I'm forced to shoot one-handed, I don't have as much control as I'd like. Other than that one little issue, it's fine as far as I'm concerned. Colorado: Any more Longslides going to be made? I don't know if Glock is ever going to listen to us...? JoeSnuffy 01-05-2007, 21:09 Colorado question for ya Is the mass of the regular slide of the G21 good to go with your 21/20 conversion...even when using the shorter standard barrel? For some reason I got the impression that the long slide with the 6" barrel was optimal for the 21/20 conversion I've been waiting on Lone Wolf to bring out their long awaited long slide for the G20 TIA ColoradoGlocker 01-06-2007, 00:29 . hugeGlock 01-08-2007, 02:00 Are the G20 and G21 slide the same? Can you use them interchangeably? What was the price of the G20/G21 long slide itself? Did it come with sights? What would you pay for one now? What kind of finish would you want on the slide? JoeSnuffy 01-08-2007, 22:09 Colorado... You can always work your magic on that new Taurus 24/7 OSS Long Slide .45 ACP with the FDE polymer lower blue long slide top side... With magazines that work and a good 10mm conversion barrel this might be 'doable' eh??? http://www.taurustactical.com/images/imagesMain/24-7%20OSS.jpg http://www.taurustactical.com/products/product-details.cfm?id=503&category=Pistol :) ColoradoGlocker 01-09-2007, 13:09 . hugeGlock 01-09-2007, 14:18 Very nice... Thank you for answering my questions. I believe i will look into manufacturing a stripped g21 long slide. I believe that i will make them from a good Stainless Steel, maybe 320 or similar alloy. Then i will have them passivated for protection. I will include the stock provisions for the front sight and a good rear sight. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Give me some input on what you would like to see available. I believe the market for this to be small but worth it. I would go for a traget price of 450 to 500 for stripped slide. Thanks again ColoradoGlocker 01-10-2007, 00:22 . hugeGlock 01-10-2007, 09:43 Well, I will see what kind of work it turns into. Perhaps, 250-300 will be just fine. What marketing channels would you suggest i pursue? I appreciate your advice. ColoradoGlocker 01-10-2007, 12:31 . JoeSnuffy 01-11-2007, 13:39 If it takes the same slide as the G21...this model might just increase sales enough to encourage Caspian or some other entrepenur to make us a long slide....:) vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
