Re: Smith M646 project to 10mm conversion.
Could not find old thread.
Took cylinder from latest run of M646s and sent it to gunsmith with
moon clips and silvertip empty cases as sample.
Cylinder was reamed to 10mm case length.
Smith contact said that cylinder could hold loads to 37,500 psi.
So Silvertips and Double Tap Equalizers will work.
I did the trigger action job myself.
Used Miculek video.
Not bad if I say so, IMHO.
.40 still shoot fine, but must use clips.
10mm can go with or without.
Use plastic pen to pop out case; most fall out.
A few folks were worried about coating Smith puts on finish.
It has been about three years, and no erosion so far.
Nice light carry gun.
Quick to reload.
Two calibers for range.
Can load shotshell, .40 and 10mm in one clip for field use.
Happy with outcome.
Will find photos on old hard drive.
