Converting a G23 to .357 Sig?

What is required? Just a conversion barrel? Will my G23 mags work with .357 Sig? I know when converting my G23 to 9mm, I was told for carry, to use G19 (9mm) mags.

Structurally, are the G23 and the G32 equal? In the case of the Sig P239, there is a difference in slide specs between the 9mm and the .40/.357 versions. I would not want to put undue wear and tear on my G23 by shooting a lot of .357 Sig. Thanks.

You don't need a conversion barrel you need a G32 barrel. The G23 mags will work.

You are right, my bad. The only negative about converting to .357 Sig in a G23 it would seem are the sights. I was told by Glockparts.com to expect a 3 inch drop at 25 yards with the G32 barrel in a G23 (w/G23 sights). Not a big deal at combat ranges under 15 yards - the POI drop is negligible. On the other hand, if I install a G33 barrel in a G27, the G27 sights are fine for both calibers according to Glockparts.com. Yes to a little drop in MV with the G33 barrel compared to a G32 barrel but what the heck - still better ballistics than the .40SW.

A Lone Wolf ported .357 Sig conversion barrel in my G27 would be particularly nice to reduce some of the muzzle flip.

My G32 has roughly the same POI-to-POA with either barrel.Mags will work both ways...:thumbsup:

I had to use 357 followers in my G23 mags to get them to work properly. I kept getting rounds that would slam into the front of the magazine and give a failure to feed, until I made the swap.

Don't forget that the G23 needs to be the 3-pin model so that it has the additional reinforcement to handle the 357SIG.

If your G23 doesn't have these reinforcement rails imbedded in the frame,your 23 will not live long shooting 357sig...
