View Full Version : I took the plunge
Never in a million years would I have considered buying a Kahr CW9 (D.O.B. August 2006) . After all the posts of it being junk, I decided to buy one the other day. I have to say that as of today I ran 100 rounds of WWB's thru it. While at my club a couple of my friends kinda shook their heads in discus and laughed. That was probably because they know that I do not buy junk. Long story short I put it thru it's real test. First magazine no problem. Then I decided to do some rapid fire (6 mags). Again no problems. All 100 rounds there were no FTE's,FTF's and every other FT's you could think of.
Clean and lube it before going to the range(when new). Would I carry it? Yes, after a few hundred rounds.
Would I recommend it? Yes, after a few hundred rounds.
Would I buy another? Yes, after a few thousand rounds.
Thanks Kahr forum members. John
P.S. I will be feeding it with a variety of ammo next session.

Mine had a FTF the first shot. After that it has done about 1000rds with no issues. Most of those are my personal reloads as well. I only did reloads after the first 400rds went thru the gun. Glad you are happy. That should be a good carry gun for you.
Congratualtions. You made a good choice. There have been few if any complaints about the CW9. There was a long series about the smaller PM9, but those issues seemed to have worked themselves out.
The gun can be particular regarding the way the rounds are loaded in the mag. Make certain they are well seated all the way to the back. If you have to carry the mag loose like I do, be sure to chek the first round of the reload mag periodcally to make certaint that it has not vibrated forward from its rearward positon.
The CW9 conceals well, is very accurate, and should be a very reliable self-defense weapon. They are best run pretty wet with lubrication.
Good for you! I don't have the CW9, but have a K9 & P9 Covert and enjoy them both. I am sure you will enjoy the Kahr and soon you will want another. Happy shooting!!
