The thread about the PM45 made me look hard at the Kahr Website.
I noticed the P9 Covert and the P40 Covert are no longer listed on the "Product Description and Suggested Retail Pricing Effective: January 1, 2007" pages.
It appears these are going the the way of the K40 Covert, the E9 and MK9 BOX and are being discontinued.
This may not be as big as an issue as it sounds, because one can always cut down a P9 or P40. This was not an option when the K40 Covert was discontinued, because the castings for the K40 and the K40 Covert are quite different.
I know of some who have cut their P45's and made "P45 Coverts" (I believe some are using modified Colt Officer Mags.) This will be easier now as Kahr is introducing the PM45, and these new mags can be used with a P45 that is cut down to the correct length for the new mags.
If one must now cut down a P9 or P40 to now make a Covert. Then I guess someone could cut down a TP9 or TP40 and make a TP9 Covert or a TP40 Covert. One could even cut down a TP45 and make a TP45 Covert. Also the CW9 and CW40 can be cut down to make CW9 Coverts and CW40 Coverts. Just a thought and interesting possibilities.
I have no affiliation with Kahr these are just my observations.
As I already have a P40 Covert, I do not plan on doing any cutting myself. :)
