Like the 29 for carry (also have the 30 in 45acp). Very accurate and recoil very manageable. Again I like 10mm as I also have two deltas, S&W 1066/1076 and a S&W 610 You will find the 29 is quite popular; used 29s do not stay on any thread very long for sale. Norman 01-02-2007, 21:55 Only problem I've encountered with my CFZ-series Glock 29 was the ejector (occasional FTE). Changed the stock 4340 one to the 8196-2 and all has been perfect. I bet we could get an extra round and more important a place for the little finger to hold on to. Hoopty 01-03-2007, 08:12 Buy a +2 baseplate! I replaced my pinky extensions with them on my G29 and love it. Barely larger than just the pinky extension, but with 2 more round capacity. C.Smith 01-03-2007, 12:10 My G29 is my one and only 10mm and I love it. I have had two G20's in the past and the G29 fits the bill for me. Concealed, firepower while I'm out and about in the wilds. Corey anarchocap 01-03-2007, 23:11 I love my 29. I have a 10mm 1911 and I don't really shoot it or carry it because of the Glock. The 29 is lighter, more concealable, and can use the 20 - 15 round magazines. Anytime I am traveling, camping, or hiking, the 29 comes with. Ak.Hiker 01-03-2007, 23:46 I have had my Glock 29 for many years. It is a greal little gun. A lot of power in a small package. clarkstoncz 01-04-2007, 02:21 I had a CZ series G30. would be cool to see a CZF G29. That aside, I'm still leary of the Glock 29s recoil with full-house loads. MY G30 with +Ps was no *****cat, so I'm still looking at a G20, as my Financee would be shooting it , too. 10mm4ever 01-04-2007, 10:57 When I decided on a G23 for CCW, I literally flipped a coin between it and the G29. I have no regrets and really love the G23, but will still most likely add a G29 sooner or later. saspic 01-04-2007, 12:04 The GLOCK 29 is small, light, dependable, affordable, yet sacrifices nothing in the way of power. I can give it the highest praise: My G29 is my home defense gun-you know-"rests on my hip as I type this." Of course, it's supposed to be just for fighting my way to my shotgun, but very likely, if anyone ever compelled me to use force to defend my life in my home, the encounter would be brief and a few shots from my omnipresent G29 would be my response. Hopefully that would convince them to move along.:outtahere: MichiganPython 01-05-2007, 16:09 And so how is the G29 to shoot? Is the recoil hard to handle ..... is it mild, is it rough? What can I expect? Are the grips too short (I have fairly large hands), is the width of the gun too much for concealed carry? I sure would love to hear everyone's ideas. Next week I'm buying either a G29 or a G23. Can't quite decide but am leaning towrds the G29 since I already have a 40 cal. I love to hunt and so a little light-weight 10 mm pocket canon might be the ticket. Thanks everybody. Imarkay 01-05-2007, 16:35 Originally posted by MichiganPython And so how is the G29 to shoot? Just another VERY happy G29 owner piping in...I've owned a few handguns in my day and I personally think the 29 is the best shooter I have ever owned. Ammo is pricey but I didn't buy it as a range gun. I've had my wife out shooting the 29 and she has no problem whatsoever with it. Out here in New Mexico I can take some very long shots and the 10mm gets there "right now" and if you select the right cartridge (maybe some DoubleTap Ammo) it makes a good hiking, backpacking, backup gun. RK...formerly from Plymouth Michigan Bravo-Four 01-05-2007, 16:39 I gotta say, I bought my G20 first back in 04 and I was impressed with it, but was never truly impressed until I ordered DT for the first time. In late 05 or so I got my G29 and added pierce grip extensions. The thing fits my hand perfectly, and I just shot DT 180gr GD out of it the other day, and the only way to really describe it is a feeling of perfection. The recoil is by no means excessive whatsoever, the pistol really handles itself well while being fired, its also extremely reliable, and I have never had a failure on it. You will know what I mean when you buys yours, which by all means you should. Its a blast really. 9jeeps 01-09-2007, 12:41 I've had my 29 since the day they hit the stores. After packing 44 mags and almost every other combination of weapon including A G-21, the 29 is my go to. I have it gussied up some with a Clip draw w/safety plug, Fobus paddle, survival belly bag for deep woods prowling. It is NOT a range gun. I have others for that. It is also my back up for a 12ga short bbl slug Pumper. Even tho the 29 is capable, here in the Cascades you need to be prepared for most anything from rabid skunks to a short fused Moose. Yup, we have the Griz, for those of you who follow the bear threads.:) ;) C.Smith 01-09-2007, 12:46 What bear threads? Are you talking North Cascades? Corey Weaps 01-09-2007, 19:47 My G29 is a great performer (and I have a .40 barrel for it for practice) and lots of power in a small, lightweight package. It's also a real attention getter at the range when shooting full power loads. It looks like G30 but spits a huge flame and makes a big boom unlike a G30. Only problem I had with it is it had an early (cosmetic) frame crack problem which was fixed by Glock under warranty. Since then it's been my favorite pistol. gunsite 01-09-2007, 21:43 I think the G29 is a great all around weapon, small enough for carry on the ankle, hip, and shoulder. Great stopping power, holds efficient ammo and very accurate. I bought the G29 for exactly what it is and I’m satisfied with it as i am with my G36. cyberj61 01-11-2007, 08:37 I found a deal at a gun show for used G29 I just couldn't pass up about 6 mo. ago and it quickly became my daily ccw. I carry IWB with a CTAC and it just disappears. It is light, easily controlable and it enjoys plenty of range time. I have noticed it is much more accurate than my 40s&w's with all different loads in medium to full house. Yes it does draw a crowd when it barks. A few other shooters have shot it as well and were surprised how well it could do at 25 yds. Akita 01-11-2007, 09:50 I had the famous ejector issues with my nonrailed G29. Fixed it with the Glocktalk pliers method(sorry, i dont rem who to credit specifically for that). Got a railed G29 when they came out and it has been flawless. I have carried a G29 exclusively since I first bought one. Count me as a '+'. G33 01-11-2007, 10:01   HK45Mark23 01-12-2007, 19:28 G-29 is a manageable platform even with full house rounds. Wonderful little 10MM gen_3 01-12-2007, 19:37 well im on my way to owning a nib g29 100$ more and ill be the owner thanks for the comments Mild Bill 01-22-2007, 19:39 Originally posted by Gary1911A1 I wish the 29 came with a longer basepad like the Glock 30. Wonderful little 10MM Did I spot a Lasermax in that picture? ;) SNH Glocks 01-27-2007, 15:01 I love my 29. It's a great gun, very manageable. The only problem I have is I'm always running out of ammo. I need to start reloading 10mm. TenMillimeter 01-29-2007, 11:25 I really like the one I just got too. In fact, I've retired my G23 to the nightstand, and carry the 29 daily now. I find the recoil quite manageable, and actually shoot more accurately than I did with the 23. I found no more muzzle flip than I had with the 23. However, after 100+ rounds of DT 165 gr., my hand was quite sore driving home from the range. HK45Mark23 02-02-2007, 03:02 Originally posted by Glockster_James Did I spot a Lasermax in that picture? ;) Sorry for the delay. Yeah of course, I would only carry LaserMax. Only the best for me. 1886 02-05-2007, 09:29 Mild Bill's post shows his G 29 with the +2 extensions.I was under the impression that the +2 extensions are not compatible with the G 29 magazines/springs etc and either did not fit or caused unreliable feeding. I have seen other threads here and elsewhere stating that nobody makes a +1 or +2 extension that works with the 10rd G 29 mags. Is this no longer the case? I have the Pearce grip extensions on my G 29 mags and they feel great. However, I would love to add a couple extra rounds without having to user G 20 mags. What's the scoop? 1886 02-05-2007, 16:50 Mild Bill's post shows his G 29 with the +2 extensions.I was under the impression that the +2 extensions are not compatible with the G 29 magazines/springs etc and either did not fit or caused unreliable feeding. Hoopty 02-07-2007, 02:43 Just make sure you buy the +2 base for the 10/45 and you will be fine. I bought the Pearce +2's and have not had any feeding problems with them. DHart 02-09-2007, 01:12 Another huge fan of the Glock 29.... you will not regret having this gun. It's comparable in size and weight to a Kimber Compact CDP (aluminum frame) which makes it great for packing, yet it carries eleven rounds of hot TEN for great fire power. Reliable, accurate, potent. A great gun. For myself, I felt it was important to do some upgrades as shown below. Now it's pretty much perfect - for me anyway. http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/G29_LF4379.jpg http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/G29_RT4387.jpg http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/G29_L4363.jpg http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/G29_RF4385.jpg GO forth and "git chu one"! BossHogg 02-10-2007, 08:28 http://www.legendportraits.com/Images/Guns/G29_LF4379.jpg See, that's not right. It's pictures like this that are going to make me go out and get myself a G29. Sounds like that is right, then. ;) kim1911 02-13-2007, 12:23 I have to say, the G20/21 grip always felt too big in my hands, but the grip of the G29 feels perfect. I just got it from Summit a couple of days ago. Blackadder 02-16-2007, 14:26 After years of trying to figure out how to compromise concealed carry and caliber, the G29 has proved to be my 'solution' http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q190/scoile/Glock29.jpg Fiery Red XIII 02-16-2007, 16:22 Local shops/ranges around here don't have 29's around. Can anyone tell me a size comparison between the Gen. 3 19's and 29's? And how does the Pearce extension make it feel (a la the same/very similar to having a bigger grip, or very different)? I currently have a 19 and am strongly considering the 29 as my next Glock. Red Norman 02-16-2007, 16:30 The 29 is simply glorious. G33 02-16-2007, 16:52 Norm! :wavey:  DHart 02-16-2007, 17:46 Originally posted by Fiery Red XIII Local shops/ranges around here don't have 29's around. Pearce mag grip extenders make a HUGE difference in the feel of this gun! Fiery Red XIII 02-19-2007, 13:29 Thx DHart! Going to the range now to check out the G30...will probably shoot that 1. I know it's hard to compare, but what is the diff in feel in .45 G30 vs the 10mm G29? Red beerswimmer 02-19-2007, 13:44 Well, I've shot both side by side because I was curious about it too. The 30 is "slower", and the 29 is "faster". Really. It's recoil is just a bit quicker. Fiery Red XIII 02-19-2007, 13:46 Thx much! Off to the range!
