View Full Version : Is this 2A Enfield worth any extra because?
Do you think a Enf-2A Enfield 2A .308 NATO/7.62x51 Rifle that has a Arsenal Mark on the stock is worth more.
I bought 2 Enfields from AIM.Both were in good shape. But I'm going to strip the stock on the #159 rifle.
NOW here is the thing the other Enfield is maked, in white military paint, number 1 on the stock.
I'm thinking I'm NOT going to refinish the #1 gun.Just lightly clean up the stock. Then keep it as is.

I dunno about your 308 enfield.
I bought one from aim a few weeks back. The metal looked terrible from the bad reblue job. The stock was in pretty decent shape. It had the same white circle with ### that you described. I think the AIM add said they all do.
On MY rifle, I can't see how stripping the old crappy re-blue job could hurt the cost one bit. The thing has globbed paint looking runs and drips everywhere. It looks like it was spray painted by a a drunk three year old. I think the aim hand select is not worth the extra $10 as I seem to have better luck without it.
My barrel does look to be in good shape tho - thank God for small favors huh?.
Good Luck!
My numbers have no circle around them just hand written in simple "old world" print
I'm thinking of using wheeler gun coat and bake on a new finish instead of cold bluing .
Only problem is the gun barrel/receiver is 6 inches to long to fit in a standard oven.
Number 159 is a arsenal job I'm thinking because of a S/A stamp on the stock.
I'm happy over all. That paint strips right off with the orange stripper.

oops. No circle on mine just the #'25'.
Mine also has the SA stamp on bolt side of stock.
Post pics when you refinish her.

The rack number? Doesn't add any value, but I prefer to keep mine (#45:supergrin:) on my 2A. It's part of its history.
