I am new to suppressors, but I have decided that I would like one for my G19. A few questions:
1. Do I need to get a new threaded barrel in order to attatch the suppressor?
2. After I do all the government registration crap, can the suppressor be cleaned, or does it get "used up?"
3. How much total $ am I looking at spending?
4. When getting an NFA weapon, do I give the ATF the right to search my home any time they want? I have heard people say this and don't know if it is true.
Thanks.
yes you will need an extended threaded barrel; Jarvis makes an excellent one.
Your suppressor will be easy to clean...WD 40 and a can of compressed air works great for cleaning.
a good silencer will run 700-800 AAC evo-9 SWR Shadow 9 a Barrel will cost about 250 transfer fee is 200 dealer cost to handle transfer is between 50-100
It is not true that the BATFE can come to your house at any time to inspect your suppressor.
here are a couple of company links www.advanced-armament.com

1) yes... you can get a good one for $85-105 from Lone Wolf. I have two and a third on order or you can pay 3x that much for others.
2) Easy to clean and some brands like mine have lifetime warranty. I use the AAC Evo-9.
3) $650-800 for the suppressor, $200 for the stamp (tax), $10 for 2 passport photos, $85-250 for the barrel, $50-100 for high profile sights... I use Heinie Race Cuts and didn't have to change sights. Some dealers do it for free if you buy the suppressor from them. $1100+ minimum....+ cash for subsonic ammo..
4) You can't lend it to anyone, It must remain in your possession. When BATF returns your original paperwork, make several copies and place them in your range bags and autos...You notify BATF if you permanently change your residence. You don't have to get permission to take it to a suppressor friendly state like you do with a machine gun. They can request to see your suppressor, but last I heard they can't search your residence without a search warrant.

Only required to notify if you move to a different state. In state move, not required.
ATF dosent care to see your guns, they want the paperwork.
