G20/21 recoil rod Diameter

Could someone do me a favor a pull a diameter measurement from their non-captured steel recoil rod for their G20? I have a steel rod here that I pulled out of a parts box, looks nice and is the same length as a known G20 rod I just purchased.

The diameter of the unknown rod shows as .250

The diameter of the known G20 (new Glockmeister captured) is .244

The diameter of the stock plastic rod (different deal but FYI) is .226

I'm looking at using the unknown rod in one of my G20s with some ISMI springs I have. When in place, the rod and spring are very smooth in operation, though I have not shot the pistol. The combination of the slightly thicker rod and flat wire spring seems to provide a very good solution. Just curious what everyone else has as .250 seems a little thicker than normal.

fwiw various mfgs have various size rod. I have ISMI springs that would bind on wolf rod. I also have a tungeston rod that works just fine is is skinner. If I can find my dial caliper I'll measure mine.

btw I use the same spring and rod in my 20 and 21.

I have to say it is smooth as can be. Probably the most quiet configuration I have yet used. I'm also somewhat new to ISMI springs and the flat wire solution seems to work nicely.

Shooting is believing so that is next up.

okay I measure my two rods. I do believe my SS rod is ISMI but not sure it might have been from topglock.

The SS rod = .248
My tungeston rod = .245


FWIW: I had a problem with ISMI springs binding up on the rod and once where it wouldn't fit at all. I call ISMI back then ( over 5 years ago or just a bout when I join GT ) and they sent me a new 20LB spring. They change their mfg'er proccess that reduce the I.D of their springs. iirc the wolf springs are bigger I.D and exhibit no problems. All I use now are wolf springs btw.

Now I'm recalling all of this from memory, I even posted this on GT at one time many many many years ago. My post couldn't be pulled up by the searched tool :sad:

I just recieved a brand new ISMI Captured Guide Rod from Brownells and another 22# ISMI spring.
I just measured it and it's a wopping .252"
Seems to work fine I have not had a chance to shoot it yet.
