I just got an EOTech model 512 for my M4-T. I am going to be sighting it in this week. I will be doing a "Co-witness" setup. When I sight in the EOTech should I set it up to be in conjunction with my iron sights? i.e. Where ever my iron sights are hitting it should be the same point of impact for the EOTech?
Please explain the procedures.
That is your preference. Personally, I can't co-witness w/ my set-up. For your situation try sighting in the red dot so the dot is slightly above the iron sights. This way, the iron sights do not interfer w/ the dot.
There really is no "procedure" per se. If you've sighted-in a rifle, it's about the same. Once your irons are in, center the dot, then shoot a few rounds and adjust so POA and POI match.

what I did on RRA A3 is sight them in individually. Thats what they are there for anyway, to back to the other one up.
Sight in your Irons alone, then sight in your EOTech alone and they will pretty much Co-witness on their own.
It really doesn't matter if the dot sits on the Front sight anyway, the dot has its own POI and the irons have their own as well.
If I get around to it, ill take a pic of my setup later today.

Correct and good advice. This is how I did my Bushy and AimPoint. They work independantly of one another and, unfortunately, I can't co-witness. Also, I'm required to have and maintain zero on my irons. This way, the AimPoint is just a "bonus".
One of my SSgt found he had problems sighting his BUIS in with his EO-Tech in place. The guys was a school trained scout sniper and could consistently get groups that touched with his irons. However, with the EO-Tech on he would produce groups that were an inch of so at 50 meters with the irons. However, since he would have to shoot through the EO-Tech if he had to use the irons, he zeroed it that way.
We zeroed at are RCOs at 36 yards, than confirm at 100. Those of use with non-adjustable BUISes and EO-Techs zeroed at 50 for an improved BZO, while those with MATECH zeroed at 25 than clicked the sight down to 200 to give them something like an IBZO.

Im the same way, we are not allowed to have a scope only, we are required to shoot our course of fire with both Irons and optics. I have an Aimpoint CompM2 on my work AR. I would put my EOTech on it but why risk breaking something of mine when I can break the Govt's instead. :)

I set the eotech and the irons for the same, dead center at 200 yards on the AR15.
1. get the Sierra ballistic tables.
2. get the sight in at 25 yards for a 200 yard zero.
3. sight in at 25 yards.
4. test at 200
5. do two cards - a. sight in at 25 yards
b. impact at 50-250 in 50 yard increments.
6. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET AN EOTECH SIGHTED IN FOR 300 YARDS WITH AN HK91A3. Notice the large print. I am trying to tell you something. Just because the literature of a company makes claims for a product, you need to test. If your Eotech lit. says it will do 300 yards, then test the literature. It is a lot easier to walk out and check 25 yards on a preliminary sight in than to walk out 200 or 300 yards.

Which round are you getting a POI/POA coincidence of 200 and 25?
