Ok I like the Gp 100 but I held a sp101 today to and it 's very nice is there any difference in durability?? I here what a great gun the GP 100 is all the time is this the same for the sp101? Thanks
The GP100 AND the SP101 are both very durable firearms. You can go to any gun forum and do a search about either and the results would bear this out.
I got the 2 1/4" DAO (spurless) SP101 for CCW and it's built like a tank and will surely outlast me and my grandkids.
The only modifications I made was to add Truasch grips (the factory grips are good but were too small for my hands) and paint the front site ramp with red nail polish to help keep my attention where it belongs.
The GP100 and the SP101 are both great firearms and you can't go wrong with either one.
*points up*...I agree with what he said completely. Both are great. If you plan on carrying conceald day in day out. Then maybe a 2 1/4" incher sp 101 is what ya need. I owned one at one time and regret letter her go. If you plan on carrying concealed now and then...but will carry on an exposed holster while out hunting or whatnot. Then maybe the heavier GP 100 in 3 or 4" barrel is more to your liking.
Both rock, and im in the search for a "like new" used sp 101 myself. Wanna get one thats as fit and "tight" as they come outta the box...but wanna smooth out the edges, slick up the trigger and whatnot myself. Then send her off to a pro to work out the kinks in the finish,(maybe a rougher bead-blasted finsish) once im happy with her. At least thats the plan as we speak, heh.

Fixed a spelling mistake
Whats those Trausch grips like? I searched and went to their web-site. And they dont say much at all...looked like the price for one was around 32 bucks. Just not alot of info on 'em.
Trausch grips are made from polycarbonate/fiberglass. They are slightly longer than the SP101 factory grips which is why I got them. (my pinky was hanging out in space). They are not "sticky" like Hogues and are not that large as to inhibit concealment capability to any great extent. They also provide good recoil absorbtion. The grip is designed to hold you hand in the same position even when firing full-house 357 loads.
Although the factory grips are good,
I highly recommend Trausch grips for anyone whose hands are too large to get a good controlable grip on the SP101.
Hmmmm... Well I gotta admit,...Ive got small hands. Pretty small, but then again. Im 5'7" and a fairly trim 150 lbs. So the small hands fit the small to average frame.
Any set of grips are better than thos plastic ones that come on them. At least, I didnt care for those last time I owned an SP. ;)

I put hogue grips on mine. Combined with a clip draw.......I love it. It melts away under a t-shirt. I also carry at least on speed loader in my right front pocket for combat reload. The SP101 is a true pocket rocket!!
