Colt 1911 MK IV series 80, stainless.
I need the good, the bad, and the ugly on the series 80

Nothing bad about it at all, its a good design, that works well.

It's a great gun
The firing pin safety "works" in the sense that it doesn't fail unless someone has monkeyed with the gun to screw up the timing. It's not really "needed", but in my honest opinion it's not a detractor(other than detail stripping the slide takes an extra minute or two).
My 1991 is a "Series 80"

Mine is a new Gov't model, series 80 Super .38 auto. Trigger is good, accuracy is good and reliability has been perfect, which is more than I can say for brand 'K' or 'SA'.
