Just wondered if any other GT'ers were taking the Tactical Handgun 101 class with Randy Cain in Lakeland this month.

Hopefully someone responds. I would like to hear feedback. I hear so far he's a great instructor and I am leaning towards taking his class myself.

The class is already full but where in Lakeland is it being held? I really couldn't find much info about this class other than the review so....what is the final price of the class? what things are needed to bring to the class (different types of holsters, amount of ammo)? Thanks for the info

I've been through several of Randy Cain's handgun and carbine courses. I highly recommend Randy -- you will not find a more knowledgable, down-to-earth instructor. His courses are well worth the investment in time, ammo, and fees.

+1 on flyandscuba.
I've taken MANY classes with Randy, not just handgun, and he is an absolutely FIRST RATE instructor and a hell of a guy. The classes are like intense mini vacations for me that whip my butt and I gladly go back whenever I can for more abuse :-). If I go longer than six or eight months without a class I start to have withdrawals. I recently did four days of handgun (December) and it was outstanding. He has great diagnostic skills for almost any shooting problem and a natural ability as an instructor. Not all great shooters are good instructors.
I know the class is now over, but if you are thinking about taking a class with him, DO IT. He also teaches in other parts of the country, his web site has his schedule.
Safe shooting.
