I'm thinking about buying an fair condition SKS from Century Arms.
Just how bad of shape would such a rifle be in?
I suppose the barrels are wore out and there is some surface rust?
Please let me know if anyone has one and their opinions.

Please let me know if anyone has one and their opinions. I can't tell you about the fair one's but if it was me I would payup some more cash for the better one's.I think that would be wise,IMO.

If it's a Yugo without a chromed bore I would expect the bore to be rusted from corrosive ammo and maybe shot out. At least badly worn. The metal finish will probably be less than 50% with possible surface rust. It may require the replacement of the odd missing/broken small part or minor repairs to make it functional and safe. The stock will be banged up and dirty and may be cracked or missing pieces. For $90 plus shipping I don't think it's worth it for a Yugo SKS. There are better guns to be had for the money.

A "fair" gun is often not serviceable. More of a parts gun. You might get lucky.

AIM surplus has Yugo SKS rifle in excellent to like new condition at a great price. The one I saw looked like it was brand new - probably was.
