So who uses them in what configuration and which ones do you use and why?
My TLE didn't come with one and I just wondered if it would be worth putting one in there or not.
I have about 4000 rounds thru my Wilson Protector with the original recoil buffer, and have had zero problems. I know you are supposed to change them out around 500 rds, but I wanted to see how long they would last. Far better than I thought. And, they really do dampen the recoil, and stop frame battering. I never thought they would work, but I was surprised.

Here's something that might interest you: Amazing reduction in recoil with a simple part change (http://forum.m1911.org/showthread.php?t=13060)
It's about an EGP firing pin stop.
An interesting read, for sure. And for $15, it's not a big risk to give it a try. I want to see for myself when I get my new 1911.

I've just completed installing the EGW FPS in all my 1911's and it works like a charm

Read the posts by 1911Tuner in the thread posted above, decide after research (novel idea). It works great and it was the original design and ole JMB knew his craft!

I sure as hell can't explain it. I haven't even been home to pick up my first 1911 yet. I think Mr. Johnny does a pretty good job of explaining it in the thread I linked.
It's about the way the parts interact.
