At a gunshow, two guys are looking at a Makarov inside a case. It's a double-stack, adjustable sights if I recall so it's commercial. Looks to be in excellent shape. Price is $345. I don't know what magazine was in it. (Too high)
The guys really seem intersted in the pistol and are asking questions. So a good salesman would get off his big duff and put the product in the customers hands, but were talking about a gun dealer here.
The customer asks if the gun is easy to take apart. (He means feild strip) Dealer answer?
"Do you take your cars engine apart after you drive it? There's no reason to take it apart".
The customer says, "well, I mean to clean it".
Dealer says, "Why? You don't need to feild strip it to clean it, I don't with any of my guns"
I couldn't stand anymore and walked off. I wish I would have said more now. Like, "Man, he really doesn't want to sell that gun does he!?"
He didn't offer to let the customer hold the weapon, and he debated about whether feild stripping was a good idea, instead of just telling the customer that feild stripping a makarov is easy as it gets and then demonstrating it.
I've met about three good gun salesman in my life. This guy is a good example of how not to sell.
There were about two other Bulg maks at this gun show. About $245 I think. High. But as we know these all just asking prices.
