Picked up a PM9 with blackened stainless slide at the gun show today. :dancing:

Now my wife and I have twins! Obviously fraternal, not identical.

Won't make it to the range till Monday though. :crying:

Put 140 rounds through it today: 90 rounds of 115-gr WWB FMJ, and 25 rounds each of 124-gr and 147-gr HydraShoks. On the 1st, 3rd, and 4th magazines the slide failed to go completely into battery loading the first round from slide lock (1/16" - 1/8"). Other than that, smooth sailing.

How did you release the slide when you had the FTF's? Just curious, as I'm taking your gun's triplet (separated at birth) out on Saturday to break her in.

With the slide stop, always, just like the book says. After the 4th mag, everything went fine.

Have fun. Hopefully I'll get back there and get to put the rest of the 200 break-in rounds through. Ran out of 9mm ammo last time out.

Got to finish the break-in today. 155 rounds 115-grain WWB FMJ and 50 rounds of what is going to be my carry ammo, 147-grain Winchester Ranger T. As I hoped, feeding and function was (nearly) flawless. I decided to see if slingshotting the slide was as big a problem as some people report, so I did several of the cartridge chamberings by racking the slide. Of about 15 times chambering by slingshotting, all but one chambered fine. The one that didn't just needed a nudge to go fully into battery. Not an issue for my PM9. The 147-gr Ranger T functioned perfectly, so as soon as I get it cleaned up, the PM9 will be good to go for carry.

Another day at the range today, 69 rounds total with the PM9 (spent most of the time with my G27).

Had one round fail to chamber completely when racking the slide to load, otherwise perfect. On the one FTF, I was able to push the slide into battery with a nudge of my thumb.

Another uneventful day at the range today. Only shot about 50 rounds with the PM9. Nothing to report...

J T, what's the alpha prefix and first digit of the serial number?

VC70xx. Pretty new; born in Nov. 2006.

Edit: Also forgot to note that since break-in appears to be successfully completed (464 total rounds), I've cut way down on lubrication and switched to TW-25B grease.

OK, this is getting boring so no more reports after this one unless something out of the ordinary.

50 more rounds today (514 total rounds fired), nothing to report except that with the switch to TW-25B, the pistol was amazingly clean after being fired. Grease stayed where it belonged, and the accumulation of miscellaneous gunk was essentially nil. I still use one drop of oil in the recoil spring assembly between the two concentric pieces, as it's hard to properly lube there with grease.

Is this a known/commono gun-grease? I've gotten my P(roble)M(atic)9 to 100% (in 120rds) with one magazine and 90% with the other (though I still can't believe mags are causing a trigger-reset issue, so more testing is needed).

I'm glad to hear the 147gr bullets are working for you...I was a bit worried about using something that big--worrying about feed-ramp-hang-up issues (I know some people say not to use anything bigger than a 124gr).

TW-25B is probably as common as any of the others you'll hear about. Available at

Haven't had any issues with the 147-grainers, but yeah they do look pretty long when they're loaded in the magazines.

Put 28 rounds of Federal Tactical HST 147-grain (P9HST2) through the PM9 today to check for feeding reliability. Fed fine. Wife's PM9 got the other 22 rounds from the box; no issues with hers either.

This is going to be my new carry ammo.

Still very happy with the switch to the TW-25B grease.

Total rounds today: 87
