Kahr's web site states that: MK9, 9mm pistols, which begin with the prefix "Gaxxxx" cannot accept the MK-Series wood grips.
Does anyone know why this is?

There were some changes made to the grip frame after the GA
series. Some sort of reinforcement? Anyway, supposedly a
substantial enough change to make the grips incompatible.
What kind of grips do you have? I might be interested in a
trade.

sambeaux2249,
Thanks for the info.
Mine has, what appears to be, hard rubber black grips.
Do you have a set of wood grips for a GA-series gun?

Yes I do. I've been looking around for a set of the hard rubber grips. As you know, the new ones don't fit.

I guess you're not interested in a trade, then.
Anybody know where I can get plastic or rubber grips for an
older model ( GA17** ) MK9 pistol? Thanks.

sambeaux2249,
I'm considering getting a set of wood grips, and I'm not sure about a trade just yet.
I'd probably keep the rubber so that I could switch back and forth.
Currenly it's back with Kahr for evaluation of a cracked slide.

Ah, cool. I'll keep my eye out for another set of rubber grips then. Thanks.

Where is the crack? Is it between the muzzle and guide rod openings on the front end of the slide? I just had to replace the slide on my MK9 for that reason. Here's a link to the thread http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=636358 so you can see the pic I posted. I'm wondering if this is a more common issue than I thought.

jggonzalez,
That looks just like mine! I haven't heard of many failures of this type, yours was the first.
Kahr stands behing their products. I'm waiting to see how they handle it.
