I'll have to relisten to podcast and get back. Did any of y'all hear? bubllehead 01-14-2007, 18:50 Here's the scoop. Bob Morison, president of Taurus, from the S.H.O.T show, says they have the 800 series in 9mm, .40, .45, and 10mm. I don't know if it's a 1911. He said it has a decocker can be carried conn 1. It will hold at least 12+1.  :hearts: Vulcanese 01-14-2007, 19:02 Any new 10mm is awesome news, even if it is a Taurus. If their model "800" is a single stack 1911 like their PT1911 in 45acp, it might actually be worth a closer look. The PT1911 may be the best thing that Taurus has done to date; maybe they'll follow up with a 10mm option. Taurus has put some real garbage on the market. Hopefully they are making improvements. They are certainly buying lots of gun rag ads. Los Suenos 01-14-2007, 19:32 Like the three revolvers we were supposed to have last year? I'm not holding my breath. Despite the attractive pricetags on Taurus firearms, I've managed to stay away so far. I must admit, I'm a S&W snob and my 6.5" 610 kicks ass! "We don't need no stinkin Taurus" (heavy spanish accent). bubllehead 01-14-2007, 20:53 can't be a single stack, they're talking 17 rnd 9mm mags. I thinck its thier entry for the new gov. sidearm compition. Here give a listen to todays show hr 1 http://guntalk.libsyn.com/ bakjr 01-14-2007, 21:35 Originally posted by Los Suenos Like the three revolvers we were supposed to have last year? I'm not holding my breath. +1.... Last year they had everyone waiting for their 10mm revolvers to come out and then pulled them from the lineup. I doubt they are going to go through and release a semi auto 10mm since they pulled the wheelies. LAK Supply 01-15-2007, 00:26 I've had a couple of Taurus semi's, but neither were accurate at all. The PT140 was the worst!! It was my wife's gun, and while it fit her hand well, she couldn't put anything on paper at 15 yards! After watching her get frustrated yet again, I forced her to shoot my G-20 (she used to hate it because it felt "too Big" in her hand). She proceeded to put 14 out of 14 in the chest of the silhouette! She now has one of her own and shoots it like a pro! All of this being said, I would be interested to hear about a Taurus 10mm. I definitely wouldn't run out and buy one, but a new 10mm would be enough to get me interested. . . . Here give a listen to todays show hr 1 http://guntalk.libsyn.com/ This audio file is Tom Gresham (from Guns and Ammo TV) hosting his "Gun Talk" radio show. He is live at the SHOT Show in Orlando (recorded 1/14/07). The part of the show with Taurus president Bob Morrison is mislabled on the page - it's the first .mp3 file at the top of the page (says January 7 Part A, should say January 14 Part A). During Bob's interview, he talks of new Taurus products for 2007, including an "800 series" of pistols that will accommodate 17 rounds of 9mm, 14rds of 40sw, and 12rds of 45acp. After Tom asks "and how many of 10?" Bob hesitates and says: "Uh, we're gonna, we think that, for sure that it'll hold at least 12, perhaps 13 of 10mm. So we WILL HAVE AN 810 IN THAT SERIES." So there you have it, straight from the President of Taurus. His promise to his customers. We'll see what happens... The host earlier described the 800 series as having an ambi decocker, an ambi safety, and ambi mag release. triehl27 01-15-2007, 13:59 Is that 10mm is the same base size as .40 so if you have 14 in .40 you should have 14 in 10mm. And know my luck with new taurus proposed guns, the 810 will be a G21SF copy. bubllehead 01-15-2007, 16:30 I noticed that too. Can't thinck why a .40 and a 10 on the same fraim whould hold diff. number of rounds.???? Taurus is kinda known for knock off type designs like the Barreta type, I liked that one they made some changes mainly the frame mount safty. It does sound like a Glock cloan.:headscratch: 10mm4ever 01-16-2007, 07:22 I'm all for more moderately priced 10mm platforms. The only thing preventing the 10mm from acheiving "mainstream status" is the limited # of platforms in the 400-600 price range. The new FNP .45(which holds 14 rounds) looks to be an excellent platform for a 10mm. They are "overbuilt". vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
