Very nice! Thank you.

Has anyone held one and what was the difference in feel?

Boy, Ken Lunde was certainly right-the comparison would seem to define the concept of "subtle difference." Nevertheless, I'm interested-after all, there's but a similar difference between the grips of the SIG-Sauer P225 and P228/229, but the actual feel is quite different between the two. Glock still seems to be dodging the real issue/solution-a full-size single-stack .45 ACP.

Best, Jon

Hi Dan.
Is there anything that I can do to get your photo link to load?

Glock Annual did a poor write up on the new G21 SF. Other than the amb. mag rel. why did they even bother? Now if they made it a long slide with better sights as well than maybe I'd buy one.

Shoulda squeezed the 13 round polymer mag into a slimmer 10 round polymer mag, or made a slimmer 13 round metal mag...

What they have done feels like less of a difference to me than between an arched and flat mainspring housing on a 1911.

Of course, your hands may vary. ;)

I handled both new and old today. I have small to medium hands. I traded my 21 years ago because I couldn't get an adequate grip. I carry a G38 now. Pictures and measurements aside... the new model feels good in my hand, big difference IMO. I dropped the magazine and saw 13 holes. Feels good, thirteen shots, I don't care if they ever make a 10 shot single column. If this had been available before I bought the 37 and then the 38 I might have gone with the 21 and stopped right there.

The only problem I have with it is that the original 21 mags won't fit it, though the SF mags will fit the original 21. That means I can never trade up or lose the use of all my mags. No biggie. I have medium hands yet for some reason the 21 fits my hands well.

Could you say how it compares to the standard grips on the 17, 19, 22, 23, etc.?

Edited to add: I just picked up a 21sf at my local fun shop. The grip feels only slightly larger than the standard grips on the 17, 19, 22, 23, etc., and noticeably smaller than a standard 21. I'd say my hands were about medium sized give or take, so ymmv.

I agree with Shaman, I sold my 21 years ago because it was to big in the grip to be comfortable for me...held the new frame today and it feels much better, put one on lay away!

Has anyone compared the G-21SF to the 45XD as far as width and overall size?

Yes, I compared them side by side and did a little review. See if this link works....

To sum it up, I acknowledged that the XD45 is in fact, still smaller in grip dimension, and perhaps a little more comfortable to some.....BUT the 21SF is a GLOCK and as such I prefer it albeit by a small margin.

I held one yesterday. It feels great in the hand. It is just slightly larger than the G-17/22/31 handgun frame.

I will have to really consider this gun.

What are the differences in the two rails on the 21SF?

You can do some work with a pocketknife or dremel to convert your mags.

Hey Bud! (Still got that 228?)

Sounds like you've held one, already. I have had a couple opportunities to handle the new 21SF, and was likewise very impressed. The standard 21 is the only handgun I've avoided because it didn't fit right. The SF is great. I want one, too.

Nope, I sold it. I am bad that way.

How are you?

I am thinking about trading my Springfield XD45 for one!

As much as I liked my XD-45, I ended up selling it after getting the G21SF and comparing them side by side at the shooting range.

I own a G20 but no 21.

I held a SF at the Shot Show and could barely tell the difference from my G20. It did not feel like a G17 grip to me. I would buy one in a heartbeat if it had a threaded barrel and tall sights for a suppressor.

Look at what Sig did:
