Where do I get them? Also, I bought some inexpensive ones from Tapco a while back. They hold ammo, but the rounds won't strip off. I want some stripper clips that actually work. Is there such a thing?

pretty much the only way i have seen to find these are to buy them with the ammo they came loaded on. in the late 90's and early 2000's there was some russian stuff that came in pie shaped cardboard boxes of 15 rds tied closed with a string, they contained 3x 5 rd clips.

i only have about 10 boes of that stuff left, i bought it from a friend that needed some money.

i also got some brass cased chinese 54r on brass clips too. i know some clips exist out there that are made by the finns.

Its also how you use the clips and on each specific rifle. The new manufacture work fine if they have the tabs on the end. They're stamped with the Izhevsk code so they may have been made on factory machinery.

Also, Mosin rounds, being rimmed have to be staggered on the clip like a Lee-Enfield or they won't feed off of it.

have you tried these clips yet? they say they are new production, but the bend angles they look different from the real russian and chinese ones i have.

i had some of the repro ones from aim/sarco/whoever a few years ago, and they were absolutely terrible.

not saying these new ones from aim wont work, just looking for some feedback on them. i would rather use new ones than wear out the ones i have got.

If you have access to a tumbler, run them through for a couple hours to polish up. It smooths them out tremendously.

cool, thanks for the advice. after the last batch of aftermarket ones i had, i was leery, but hearing a couple of testimonials makes me feel ok in buying some.

good site to work with also.

the recoil pad they sell (bear creek) is good for extended mil-surp rifle range sessions ;)

Just got my stripper clips from CTD. Although they are obviously not new, they are clean and in excellent condition and they all have the Izhevsk cartouche on them. Don't know if they are the real deal, but all of them work 100%. My guess is that that are genuine Russsian stripper clips. For those wanting some, I highly recommend grabbing these while they are still around, I spent the past few years looking for some of these.

Thanks paccw! I quit looking at CTD a couple years ago because of their high prices and tendency to sell junk. Guess I should give them another try.
