guide rails

I have a noticeable small notch on my left side guide rail. Is that suppose to be there? guess I have not noticed it before. Could it be a small chip out of the rail?
Got 710 rounds thru it with no peening. Gun works great!!

I'm assuming that you're talking about a PM9? If so, mine has the same notch, and from what I've read on this forum it is supposed to be there. I'm not sure what purpose if any it serves, but it is nothing to be concerned about. BTW, my PM9 is from 2004 and has the notch.

thanks for the update. you are correct. I have a pm9 that has performed flawlessly. Really love the gun.
