I have a chance to purchase a LNIB 3rd gen G24 with adj sights for $489, is this a good price?

Thanks in advance.

+1

they were $650 new. I paid $550 for my newish 17L w/ Heinie slantpro sights and thought I was doing good. They have some collector value as there are not that many of them and are only made is very small batches.

Thank you all for the replys, I picked up my LNIB G24 today with
a Glock rear adj sight and a trijicon front for $498.

This G 24 looks like it has never been fired.....the serial # is
HGFXXX, is this a third gen?

If it has finger grooves and a rail, then yes it is a 3rd gen.

You will love it. I know I love my 17L.

The adjustable rear sight is standard for that model, the Trijicon front isn't, so you made out there.

It Looks like I did ok this time, Randy at Hoffmans said that
the G24 was taken in from a gun collection.

It does have the finger groves.

Thanks again,
John

PS: I can't wait to take it out for a test run!!!

Also, is the slide a bit shiny or is it a flat dull black?

The shiny-er ones are the newest ones I am pretty sure. My G30 is a 3rd gen, but has the flat black finish on the slide. It was made in '96 IIRC. My G21 was made in '02 or '03 and has the shiny-er (not sure if it is even a word) finish.

Hmmm. HGF is not listed here (http://www.glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=412093) but it looks like all the ones right around it were made in '05 making yours from the last batch made.

You done good. ;)

epsylum,

My G24 has the bright black slide & finger groves.
The serial number HGF02X is not listed, how can I
find the mfg. date?

Thanks,
John R / CT

I am not sure, but I am pretty sure it is an 05 making it from the last batch of 17L/24/24Cs made. So yours is about as new as a 24 can get. Maybe call Glock and ask about the manufacture date. I usually go by the test fired cases that come with the gun when new, but some people toss them. I keep mine just for this purpose.

Not to hi-jack, but since JR's question was answered. What does everyone think about a 35 for $479? It is used, the feed ramp shows that, but otherwise it looks okay.

Sounds like a great price, If I had my choice I would take the
G35.

Good Luck,

Steve,

Shame on you.....You know Glock's never choke!

The G 24 was an impulse buy, I would rather have the G 35.
So are you interested in the G24?

Thanks,
John
