I've heard good things about Brownell's Oxpho-Blue from several sources, and had been contemplating including some in my next order from Brownells. Yesterday, I stopped in a small town gunsmith shop, and he had a bottle of it for sale. Yes, it was a couple of bucks more than my price from Brownells (I get the same discount as he does), but it was there, and there was no shipping involved. I bought it, and tried it out last night while my wife watched some chick-flick DVD.
That stuff is amazing, light years ahead of the previous cold-blue (from Wal-Mart) that I had been using. I wound up digging all the blued guns out of the safe and touching up any wear marks. They all look brand new now. Somehow, it penetrated even a light coat of oil, and managed to match bluing (with different amounts of application, of course) from M1 parkerizing to Ruger bright polished bluing.
I give Brownell's Oxpho-Blue "Five Stars" and "Two Thumbs Up"!
