Everyone knows that in pistols you can shoot 38 Specials through a 357 magnum, 44 specials through a 44 magnum, but are there examples in rifle calibers as well? Obviously 22 short, long and long rifle can be shot through a 22 LR, but what about others. No, I don't plan to do it, but in an emergency/survival situation, can you take a 270 shell and shoot it through a 280, or a 308 and shoot it through a 30-06. An old World War II veteran once told me they could force an 8mm into a Springfield 30-06 and fire it. Are there examples of one caliber that can be safely shot through another caliber rifle?
