I have a friend that wants to sell me his MAK 90 Sporter that he bought new in 1991. Haven't seen it yet but he says it is in excellent condition with 5 extra 30 rnd. mags, 350 rounds of ammo, and all supplied accessories. Still all original w/thumbhole stock. I do not know if it is a stamped or milled receiver yet as I haven't seen it. He is asking $500.00 for the package and is firm on the price. Deal or no deal? Carl

I paid $350 for mine about 6 months ago with 1 magazine thats it.. oh its got a fiberforce stock on it as well
If it has a stamped receiver, $500 is not great, but OK.
If it has a milled receiver, that's a fair price.
I have a milled MAK Sporter with the black thumbhole stock. Very nice rifle.

The price sounds a little high to me, but I know this person and he said it is in like-new condition and has about 200 rds. shot through it. He is the original owner. I will try to get it a little cheaper, but will pay the asking price if I have to as I am sure the gun is in the stated condition and will get a chance to examine it before handing over the cash! Thanks Carl

Well, I picked up the rifle today and was pleasently surprised to find it has a milled receiver! It is in like-new condition and all-original. Came with 5 30rnd. mags and 500 rounds of ammo! Love theses old Norinco's. Being a milled receiver, it was imported in 1993(only year for milled MAK-90 to be imported) instead of earlier like the seller thought, but he did buy it new and still looks new! Probably will leave it as is unless I run across a good deal on a new stockset.
I think thats more than fair. They not gotten any cheaper and harder to find every day whilst us all are hording them. Get some bulk ammo before it goes up any further! And some high capacity mags.
And of course... WHERE ARE THE PICTURES!!!!! ;)

Hey cphilip, thanks for the reply. Got to think it is a very fair deal, too. It has the "386" stamp in an oval just as the Polytechs do, so it was made in the same factory and is very nice looking!
I have about 4K rounds of ammo stashed already as I have 2 other AK's (Yugo underfolder and Global Trades SSR-85-C2)and a Russian SKS! I will get some more ammo as it is not going to get any cheaper! Also need to get some more magazines!
I will try to post a picture tomorrow morning. I need to get my camera back!
