G33 question

I just recently purchased a 33. When I took it out today to put a few rounds through it the mag was extremly tight when trying to get the last round into it. Also it was nearly imposible to rack the slide with the full mag in it. Anyone have this problem or any suggestions to fix it.

Leave the mag fully loaded and it will loosen up. My dept. issued G-17 mags were that way when I received them last year. Now they are fine. I can even top off if I want to without a problem. The new spring tension is slightly higher and will decrease with time.

Thanks i will have to try that. They have been loaded for sometime now so hopefully they have losened up.

I load 8 rounds in the G33 magazine.If you really want higher capacity look for early G27 magazines.These will hold 9 rounds of 40 S&W but for some reason will hold 10 rounds of 357 Sig.The newer G33 magazines have higher followers that make 9 rounds difficult.No point in forcing them as they will break.

I left my G33 mags loaded for over a year. Now I can fit a 9th round in and rack the slide.
