Went into a trade with a gentleman from another forum.Traded a high dollar AR for a Milled AK.
Now was told it was polytech no where on the gun does it say that, only Norinco.
Also has an oval with 386 in it.
Has more than a few issues,Dirty, hobbled together to make an ironwood
Furniture fit.The only other marks it has is an engraved MAK90 on the side, looks like it was done with a small engraveing tool.
Anyone here have an expertise on this help me out.I DO NOT want to go lawyer on this guy but i feel i got boned hard.
Have to redo a few things on this gun to get it where it needs to be and got a nice Chinese SKS with it(with scope) But its not an 800.00
gun as he had stated.
Thanks GT always helps

All you got was a mac90 it's a good ak BUT ..... Not a polytech !!!
Do you have any pictures ?
Have you talked to the guy , you need to tell him it's NOT a polytech !!!
You should make sure it's 922 compliance , if you're keeping the gun !!!

Guys
A MAK-90 with a "386" stamp is indeed a Polytech for all practical purposes. It is not a $800 AK however. When someone says "Polytech" most of us think of the "Polytech Legend" or at least a pre-89 milled-receiver AK, but I HAVE SEEN "Factory 386" ( "Polytech" ) MAK's, most stamped and some milled.
Most stamping on the Chinese rifles, pre and post 89, was done hurriedly. I used to have a very nice Type 56 imported by Sile that was "MADE IN CHIN".
If they didn't get the right Ironwood stock ( specifically for a MAK-90 ) then it's been fitted ( poorly, as it sounds ) to the rifle by previous owner. Chinese rifles are somewhat narrower than Euro-pattern.
I don't think you got beat too bad , I'd say $200 tops on the SKS and maybe $500 on the MAK ..... the fact the guy mis-respresented his stuff makes it worse. What sort of AR did you trade? "high-dollar" doesn't say much
Well thats sad.
I just trade AR stuff for an AK too. Can't say I got boned. Can't say I didn't. I went in eyes wide open and did my homework first and then examined it before trading.
However I might have gone a bit high on it value for value. I dunno. You tell me.
I gave him an older Colt A1 upper C MP C barrel (neat old vintage thing great bore) with teardrop forward assist but no brass deflector, a Carrier and bolt (unknown make but good one) 2 mags and $250 (the value of a new lower and charging handle) So I was into it like $600 to $650 from what I had into this stuff plus the cash.
For a Bulgarian Arsenal (milled Reciever) SA-93 with threaded barrel and flash hider and with three sets of furniture original ugly set, Very nice wood set with pistol grip, very pretty, and also a complete black plastic set as well and three mags (a 10 a 20 and a 30) and the original Bayonet and little things it came with.
Then I also bought a nice Chinese 75 round drum from him on the side.
But... they hard to find these SA-93's and I did get lots of extras and.... I wanted it. Simple as that. Remeber when these things used to be $250? Then went to $500... I dunno. For all I got I felt $650 was a good buy. Comments?
Now let me ask the Author of this thread, least I hijack it from him,
Did you get to inspect this or was this a long distance deal? Because if it was misrepresented over distance then I think you should attempt to discuss it with him. Politely at first. But if you got to look at it first... then... it's yours.

If I remember correctly that was a very nice desert camo bushmaster setup with alot of extras. If you didnt get what was advertised for it I would be ticked for sure.
BTW...I was the guy offering the M92 krink up.
Hope you get it worked out though.
