Thanks CnRnut 02-03-2007, 18:57 I've got one on my Saiga 308. It's not a perfect fit but with a little work on your part,it will work. Is it the stock or receiver that needs to be modified? Thank You CnRnut 02-08-2007, 17:52 Originally posted by DNS What type of fitting is required on the Choate Dragunov type stock? At that cost I didn't mind a little "work" on her. http://www.gunsnet.net/album/data//500/medium/DSC01811.JPG CnR DNS 02-09-2007, 05:40 Thats exactly what I want, just like yours. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to modifiy the receiver. Thanks for taking the time to answer, and posting a picture. cj5mrt 02-09-2007, 10:33 Originally posted by Washington,D.C. CnRnut 02-12-2007, 21:49 Originally posted by paccw Who did you order the stock from?Do you have a part number also? Picked up the stock off this board from a member. It's hard to find what you want, when you want it. I've learned to just buy what I think I'll need when I see it. Sorry I didn't help you much!!! I think they run in the $50 range for the set. CnR DaGroaner 02-15-2007, 10:17 This guy does fabulous work and is very reasonably priced. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=12619 paccw 02-17-2007, 17:20 The Saiga web page shows a stock coming out real soon. wil129 03-09-2007, 14:40 Originally posted by paccw Who did you order the stock from?Do you have a part number also? https://www.gilbertsguns.com/index.php?request=main.viewproduct&productid=3374&categoryid=525 Decguns 03-10-2007, 17:23 The Russian made Saiga Dragunov stock is already on the market. I picked one up from Krebs for $65, and they're all over Gunbroker for $75. There are also a lot of Russian made Saiga side-folders on Gunbroker for $110-$129. Now that 20 round mags are available, the 308 Saiga has proven to be quite a good deal. 454 03-11-2007, 21:51 If stock is Russian-made, what other parts, besides FCG are easy to replace on Saiga? Piston? That's four; what about bolt-carrier? Washington,D.C. 03-11-2007, 22:18 The Russian made thumbhole stock is approved for import on new Saiga's.It works with the standard Saiga trigger not an AK trigger. It sits farther back than the Rimanian thumbhole stock. No US parts should be required unless converting the magazine. But then the US made AK trigger won't work.If you want the Russian Saiga thumbhole don't convert the mag and it should be good. The Russian Saiga thumbhole stock won't work on a standard AK without mods. 454 03-12-2007, 03:14 I've been thinking about picking up a 223 Saiga, and de-922R it to use with 30rd Galil mags. I'd love to put a folding stock on it. Decguns 03-12-2007, 19:43 The Russian Dragunov stock can legally be installed on a Saiga rifle as is. They are being imported with the Drag stock now, too. I've read on other sites you can't install one on a Saiga shot gun without adding 6-7 US parts. They say the ATF considers the Drag stock to be a pistol grip on shot guns, but the old AWB ruling for rifles specifically states it is not a pistol grip. Strange, if true. ccoker 03-21-2007, 12:11 I bought a saiga 7.62x39 16" with the dragnov style rear stock new from my local dealer I like it and wanted it instead of doing the conversion thing I don't care about the "ak47 look" just wanted a fun shooter vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
