What do you guys do for a living? Magastos ang napili nating bisyo.

I'll start by saying I'm a Quality Review Analyst in a Business Processing Outsourcing office. Yung pinambili ko ng baril, personal loan. Yung pinambayad ko ng PTC, SSS salary loan.

Has anyone heard or tried Internet based paid surveys? heard lots of people are raking the bucks out of this these days.

Like market research pay $100 for a survey that takes 20 minutes to fill-out- so they say.

Some people say that our healthcare in the Philippines is third world. But I beg to disagree.

The healthcare situation here in Alberta, especially in the Calgary area is just scary. Normal wait times in the ER is between 6-10 hours. Four hours, if it's a slow day. There have been several code burgundies (where hospital rooms run out of beds), and code reds (where there are no available ambulances that could be used to pick up patients). Ambulances are sometimes used as an extension of the ER.

Even some women with pregnancy risks are being airlifted to either Vancouver or Toronto. If these province can't accept these patients also due to overcrowding, they are sent to Montana, which is just south of the border. Same with neo-natal cases. A wait for non-life threatening surgery such as hip replacement could be as long as a year and a half. Canadians who can afford to pay for private healthcare go to the US, Cuba, and even the Philippines to get treated.

The healthcare system in Alberta is so overwhelmed that several doctors and nurses have quit and moved elsewhere. We're just lucky to be accomodated by a family doctor, because our friend knows him, and his kid's nanny is a Filipino. What's sad is that Filipino nurses end up as caregivers, and they have to study (upgrade) for a couple more years to practice their profession.

The Philippines is still lucky to have an abundance of doctors and nurses.

I am 46 years old. I weighed 150 pounds as of last week. Down from 155 before Christmas. My height is 5'6" and am of medium build. I've scaled down my food intake but there are times when I eat more than I should have (work related for priests since we get invited to numerous parties and feasts). And yes, I drink wine almost everyday though in small amounts (again work related - in the Mass). My blood sugar is at the 95 to 100 range. My cholesterol level was elevated before but I'm taking Lipitor now so it's normal. As of last October, the executive check up - specifically the ECG and the treadmill tests showed no abnormalities in the heart. Blood pressure is at the 110/70 and 120/80 range. The abdominal sonogram (ultrasound?) tends to indicate that I have fatty liver (I don't want to undergo a liver biopsy because I've seen one done and it involves stabbing at my liver with a big syringe - like an ice pick - without the benefit of anasthesia) and I've taken Silimarine Capsules for 4 months. I do exercises on the treadmill on a regular basis which means alomost everyday if I am not out of town. I walk a minimum of 3 km a day. Right now I'm shooting at 140 pounds though that figure is not based on anything scientific. Yes Sir, I am serious about losing weight.

Media is always biased ( well , the local media here is )

Media is also biased here. They only show the bad side of what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan, because the bad side always gets the public's attention and therefore, makes lots of money for the media. The good side seldom gets the public's attention. That's probably how the media conditioned the minds of the public.

Try watching FOX TV. They give a different picture of what's happening in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yes, they show the good things that have happened in those two countries.
