Ruger mk3 accurizing kit... First target from the gun

got my mk3 a few weeks back and went out and tossed some cheap federals down her throat...

after waiting for parts and money, i now have my first 25yd slowfire target, 20 rounds of Wolf Match grade 40 gr 1050 fps... first shot was low in hte 8 ring, i think i jerked.
The rest are standing fired at a decent pace but not rapid fire. The 3 seperated from the ragged section are because i stopped and checked the target through a spot scope and realized i was beggining to drop lower and lowed on target... they are visual corrections.

this is a factory mk3, VQ kit (trigger, sear, hammer, etc) with a cheap red dot...

2in group at WIDEST seperation point
but if i ignore the first shot :) it's down to 1.5in
going back out today, I WILL get a 1in group... also have some CCI stingers to try out, was not too terribly impressed with the mini-mags i bought either.

Nice! Is it hard to install the accurizing kit? Also, where can i purchase that grips that you have? I have a MKIII Hunter and thinking on going this route also.

if you can detail strip the gun, then no the kit isn't difficult to install...

if you've never done a detail strip, http://www.guntalk-online.com/detailstrip.htm#operate
, is a reccomended place to start. If you aren't comfortable with the detail stip VQ charger about 35$ to install their kit onto you gun.


The grips are Hogue's and if you have a mk3 just buy mk2 grips and make a small very simple cut (did mine with a carpet knie) or the mag release button...

would tell anyone that the kit isn't required however, if you want to spend a little less money just buy the sear and the trigger... they'll do about the same thing... I'm haveing a few ejection problems so i'm picking up the "edge extractor" here in a few days, this little project is almost as much a money pit as my 1911 lol
